This impressive building was a former music school, which has been renovated and turned into stunning private duplex apartments. This ensemble is more than a century old and has some very typical Belgian features with terraces, gardens, red bricks and metal beams. This beautiful home is very quiet and has a lot of lights flowing in. It comes with a large open kitchen fully equipped, bed linen and towels are provided as well. Digital TV and Wifi are available. Bedroom with king size box-spring. The bookshelves offer a nice choice of travel guides in English and Philosophy readings in Dutch! From there, you can walk to the main square where the weekly (Saturday before 13h00) fresh market is located with a wonderful choice of vegetables, fruits, flowers and other local products. The main train station is also accessible, Brussels and Antwerp are only 20 mn away with direct lines. A place for bikes is available, a local supermarket is also nearby as well as relaxing cafes and restaurants. Finally, the National Airport of Zaventem can be reached in 15 mn by taxi when there is no traffic.

Dit is een prachtig gerenoveerde studio op de eerste verdieping. De ruimte is gezellig ingericht. De studio bestaat uit een openkeuken, dubbel stapelbed, salon, terras en afgescheiden badkamer met regendouche. Ideaal voor 2 à 4 personen. De zetel kan worden omgevormd tot een slaapbank. Aparte ingang met cijfercode. Het terras biedt een mooi uitzicht op de tuin van de eigenaars die het huis ernaast wonen. De benedenverdieping is bewoond. €5/kamer/nacht toerist tax Mechelen niet inclusief.

Onze gezellige woning in hartje Mechelen is de ideale uitvalsbasis om Mechelen te verkennen. Dichtbij winkels, de vismarkt vol terrasjes en de bezienswaardigheden. Toch is de woning in een rustige straat gelegen, met uitzicht op de prachtige kerk Patershof. De woning is voorzien van een uitgeruste keuken, vernieuwde badkamer en zachte bedden. I stayed at Griet's for a week while visiting Mechelen for a conference. The attic room is peaceful, comfortable, and like a little cottage atop of her house - private yet still connected through shared hallways, bathroom, and a gorgeous backyard. Griet was communicative and flexible with check in, supplied me with eggs from her chickens, and a powerful fan when the weather got very hot for a few days. She took time to talk with me about Mechelen and Belgium, and social issues in the world. Much of the time I was in and out of my room without much interaction, but openness to conversation and exchange really brightened my days. This was hands down one of my favorite experiences facilitated through AirBnB.

We hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf in dit knusse kamertje. De inrichting was sfeervol en met oog voor detail gedaan, wat meteen een warm en huiselijk gevoel gaf. Alles wat je nodig hebt was aanwezig wat het verblijf heel comfortabel maakte. De communicatie met de verhuurder verliep soepel en snel, wat we erg waardeerden. Ook de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding was helemaal in orde. Kortom: een aanrader voor wie op zoek is naar een gezellig en compleet verblijf!

Et bien que dire de mieux nous avons eu le plaisir de cette chambre partagée. Nous avons eu le plaisir d une dégustation de vin en plus qui était juste canon . C est avec plaisir que nous y reviendrons car tout était très bien pour nous .

Zeer plezierige kamer met fijn bed. Koffie en thee op de kamer en een ruime badkamer ernaast op dezelfde verdieping. Fijn ook dat de ramen verduisterd kunnen worden. Weliswaar aan de rondweg om het oude centrum en toch rustig geslapen. Locatie is top, in minuut of 10 ben je lopend hartje centrum. Parkeren kan in de buurt of in een garage. Mechelen is erg plezante stad om te verblijven. Communicatie met Jolien is snel en plezierig, entree was met sleutelkastje. Veel waar voor je geld.

Renata is supervriendelijk en helpt proactief meedenken aan oplossingen (mijn fiets). Het appartement is kraaknet en ze benadrukte meermaals dat ik mocht doen zoals thuis. Dit is echt een aanrader als je een kamer zoekt in het centrum van Mechelen.
