You will love absolutely everything about this place, located directly on a beautiful peaceful cove. Absolutely spotless inside, everything you could possibly need - from bug repellent to doggie bags to crab traps and canoes. The pictures truly don't do the place justice. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and gorgeous surroundings, this is it. Stop browsing and book!

My family really enjoyed staying at Briana’s home. The location was amazing! The set-up of the house worked very well for us. Loved the private beach! We definitely plan to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The beach was quiet and a great place to walk. Family gathered around the fire pit every night (not too many bugs!). The house nicely decorated and spacious. It is an "upside down" house, with the main living space on the 3rd floor, which has incredible views of the bay. (Plus a good workout to walk up the stairs!) We appreciated the bedroom on the 3rd floor as we were traveling with my 88 year old MIL. She didn't need to use the elevator, but it was nice to know that was an option, if needed (extra charge). The second floor features three bedrooms and we brought a long a queen size mattress which fit in the 2nd floor TV area, a good option for our 6'5" son. Also loved the deck on the 2nd floor. The nearby town is great, but restaurants close early so check before you go. We recommend the Hole in the Wall as it is on the bay. Check out the Saturday morning Farmers Market, a great place to buy gifts made by locals. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend at Tony’s home. This was our second time staying here, and we truly hope to come back again. It has become our special place of peace and energy. The view of the bay is breathtaking, and the sunsets are absolutely stunning. If you bring binoculars, you’ll enjoy birdwatching—there’s a favorite spot for birds right near the house. Beautiful, spacious beaches are just 20 minutes away, and the island itself is peaceful and quiet, with a very relaxing neighborhood atmosphere. The house is located in one of the best places on the island. It is cozy, spacious, and spotless, with large windows offering views of the Chesapeake Bay from almost every room. The big deck became our favorite place to enjoy breakfast and morning coffee. The home is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Tony and Paula are wonderful hosts who clearly pour their hearts into every detail of the house and genuinely care about their guests.

Host was super responsive with any questions we had during our stay! She was super flexible with our check-in and check-out times. The place was beautiful and my friends and I had such a wonderful time kayaking/paddle boarding on the water. Overall, our stay was amazing and we will definitely book again! Thanks for everything!

We had a great vacation! It was a beautiful location that was peaceful and restful. The house was exactly like the pictures and description. We liked having all the games for our family time.

We brought our dog along for a beach adventure at The Laughing King. We had an amazing time and MJ was a wonderful host. We stayed in the little hi eymoon cottage and it was quaint and well-appointed. The loft ladder was a bit tricky but once you got up there the bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed walking around and exploring Cape Charles (just a quick 15/20 minute car ride away with plenty of free street parking around town) but our favorite day was playing out on the private sand bar with our dog. We all had a blast on the sandbar and next time will pack a lunch and stay out longer! The property itself was secluded, quiet and private. Perfect for sitting on the porch with coffee watching the tide roll in. They had paddle boards and kayaks to use in the calm backwaters as well as a fire pit and a nice pool. The reviews about MJs wonderful breakfasts were spot on - his quiche was superb. Overall we had a wonderful time at The Laughing King and we would highly recommend it

We had a really nice stay at the Rose Retreat! The home is wonderfully appointed with nice furnishings. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen with upscale drink and dinnerware. The hand written welcome note, bottle of wine and snacks were so thoughtful - thank you! A perfect location from which to enjoy Irvington and the surrounding towns. We hope to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool!

We were in town for our son’s wedding and enjoyed our stay very much. Jason responded quickly to the few questions we had. We would definitely stay again.

Absolutely cutest rv and unique setting ! We had a blast. We went to the Tiki bar, great dog park in Kilmarnock and many walks along the shore. We even saw a bald eagle fly over us while we were drinking our morning coffee! Everyone we met human and dog was super friendly! That made the trip extra special. Beautiful view and lovely house. Thoroughly enjoyed all the wildlife - lots of baby geese, ospreys in flight, woodchucks, bunnies and deer in abundance - loved it!!

If you’re on the fence about booking don’t be. Shannons place was absolutely perfect. Set in a quiet neighborhood it was so peaceful! The house was amazing, clean, and comfortable. Shannon went above and beyond to make our stay personal and cozy. Would definitely stay again!

Great host, clear communication. The stay was great for our children as it’s very walkable into town. The home was very clean and everything was easy to find. It was also a last minute booking at Chip made sure we were able to check in early when requested. 100% recommend!

This was was a great spot for us to relax on our way home from OBX. The house is big and comfortable and we felt right at home. We managed to get to the Bethel Beach Nature Preserve (nearby and on the bay), Haven Beach (recommended for swimming), and we went to the farmer's market. We met a number of locals who were all friendly. We wish we had more time to try out the kayaks.

Great experience, easy to get into, as advertised. Right on the water, awesome view. Instructions were easy to follow, all in all, I would definitely recommend staying there.

As soon as we got to the house, it was a peaceful retreat. Although there are a few homes or farms close, there was little noise or distraction getting those of nature. The house and amenities were what you need for a few days stay and there was even an extra crate for the puppy if we’d forgotten ours. When we had a question the guest night, there was a response within fifteen minutes. And it was proactive as well as positive. The whole experience had been lovely.

We had so much at Anne and Neil’s place. It was more beautiful in person than in the photos. The furniture and antiques were so beautifully appointed. We had lots of fun as a family enjoying their pool, searching for shark teeth and shells on their beach, and getting on the water in their boats. Lots of fun. We all wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful cozy cottage. The home itself is beautiful but the surroundings complement so well. The has is clean and very welcoming. The host provides so many things especially in the kitchen, it is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. Her text before check in provided a lot of useful information about places to see and places to eat. Definitely recommend this place.
