Varadero Beach and Nice garden - 1st room

TylorRating, 5 stars12 months ago
Adriannas uncle Agustin checked me in. Throughout my stay he was friendly and helpful. The place is in a great location, a few blocks from the beach, good neighbourhood. The rooster wakes you up bright and early! Everything was great.
The exterior of the house exhibits a two-story structure with white walls and green accents. Large windows allow for natural light. A covered porch with decorative railings is visible, alongside a gated entrance leading to a well-kept garden area with trees.

La Goleta - La Pinta (1 bedroom option)

EmmaRating, 5 stars74 months ago
Lolita and Carlos are great hosts and very friendly, I thought they were very welcoming and really helped make my holiday special. Their house is not far from the local beach and not far from the beach resort of Vardero. Havana is about 2 hours away by car. The flat where my friends stayed (upstairs) is lovely, well laid out and modern, it is light and airy with all mod cons including kitchen, dining area and bathroom, it has 2 large double beds and is open plan - perfect for a family or two friends. There is also an upstairs veranda on the roof. WIFI access is available from there sometimes (WIFI access has to be bought for a small fee). The flat I stayed in downstairs is less modern but perfectly adequate for a stay in Cuba, it has one double bed. The flat is situated within a 5-7 minute walk to a lovely beach with white sands, with palm trees and generally very calm sea, as it is protected by a small rocky reef. The water was crystal clear and warm (visited early May) and there are plenty of fish to see by the reef. There are no facilities on the beach but there is an ice cream bar about 4 minutes walk away (not always open) and a cafe nearby the school facing the beach but we did not visit. Over the bridge about a 3 minute walk away from the house, you come to a little town, where you can go to the market and buy fruit, vegetables and also rice, (sometimes), there are also a few shops with a few basics. Lolita will do as much as she can to get something specific you might need. I would recommend that you dine at the house for the small extra fee, Lolita knows where to source foods, that are simply not available in Cuba (many shops are empty or have only canned goods) and makes lovely meals. For breakfast for example, we had fresh juices, fried eggs, or sandwiches with ham and cheese, a fruit salad, coffee with milk. There are no lemons in Cuba, only limes. In the evening, we had meals such as prawns in a sauce with rice, side salad of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers and a desert. Hawkers peddle their wares along the road in the morning and evening and you can stop them and ask to buy, if you are interested. Lolita will do washing for you, again for an additional fee. If you are British, bring pounds, it is the best rate available. Euros are next and then US$ which have the worst rate and are charged an additional 10% fee. ATM did not work for my UK visa debit card, but I was able to go to an exchange kiosk at the airport and withdraw money via them using this card. The currency used in Cuba is the "Convertable Peso" or CUC, don't get this confused with the other type of money that only locals use and is worth 24 times less than the CUC. Traveling in Cuba can be expensive but try to negotiate the price, you will be travelling in a Cadillac from the 1950's or 60's with no seat belts or air conditioning but very colourful and novel! I even saw an old Austin! We were lucky enough to see the crab migration in the Bay of Pigs. Havana is great fun to visit, Varadero was about a 15 minute drive from our house where they have big hotels, some souvenir shops, chemist and restaurants. Go to Cuba and enjoy the lovely sun, beautiful sea, great nature and friendly people!
A two-story building is illuminated at night, showcasing a stone façade with decorative elements. A parked car is visible on the street beside the house, while streetlights enhance the surrounding area. The entrance features a gated access leading into a welcoming space.

Fernando's House

KeithRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Our Stay at Claudia's was nothing short of excellent. We were warmly received by Claudia's mother Mayelin, and very well attended to. She helped us change money, find sugar, and even gifted us a fresh lobster. The apartment itself had everything we were looking for. Highlights were the outdoor terrace with sweeping views of Santa Marta and the terrace pool, great for shaking the heat. We chose the location for its proximity to legal and civil registry offices (2 blocks), but we found that it was also close to some excellent restaurants, by Cuban standards, Mojito highly recommended, and a very short walk (20min) or taxi (5min) to the white sand beach and turquoise water of Varadero beach. The value at Claudia's place can't be beat!
A covered terrace area features two lounge chairs positioned on a tiled floor. Potted plants and decorative shrubs add greenery, while a view of nearby buildings and palm trees is visible in the background. The walls are painted in a combination of red and yellow.

Casa Moreno, room 4

CarlaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
The place is very nice. It has all the amenities, outdoor space for very good cooking. The place has everything needed for a good stay. The exterior decoration is very beautiful. The house has a spectacular location, it is very centric, but calm and without noise. It has everything very close to a distance of a few steps: 3 min to pe, from the beach in a very good area of Varadero, surrounded by restaurants (Bodeguita del Médio, by explo), transport (terminal is 3 blocks away), close to the music house, the craft fairs. the friendly hosts. It was a great stay

Great place with a private terrace. Farah is a very nice and helpful person. We felt very comfortable in the accommodation. The only downside is that it was a bit too loud at night /in the morning as the property is on a main road.

Casa Moreno Room 3

FabricioRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Comfortable, clean and quiet apartment. The hosts were always available to help us with whatever was needed. At night, the silence and darkness of the room offered us excellent nights of sleep. The location of the apartment is excellent. It couldn't be better. It's in the middle of all the shopping in the region. There is the possibility of using the stove and the barbecue in the outdoor area and even hang clothes, if necessary. The internet doesn't work well, but that's a problem everywhere we've visited in Cuba. If we went back to Varadero, we'd be in the same place, hands down.

Casa Gladys, Room 1, Bacuranao Beach, privada

EmmanuelRating, 5 stars12 months ago
The site is just like in the photos, everything is very nice and they prepare lunch for $12 dollars and they serve a lot and with dessert, there is a beach a few streets away, but the site is very far from everything there are no shops, bars, clubs, or anything, and very difficult to get a taxi, it is excellent to go as a couple and have privacy and tranquility but very boring if you go alone. I recommend getting ready with food, you can use the kitchen fridge, microwave.
A serene beach scene is portrayed, featuring soft golden sand under a clear blue sky. Palm trees line the shore, casting gentle shadows. The calm turquoise water meets a rocky outcrop in the distance, enhancing the peaceful coastal atmosphere.

Casa Daisy and Pilot 2

JedrzejRating, 5 stars64 months ago
Daisy is possibly the best host that I've ever stayed with! She is very caring, very welcoming, super helpful with all the local tips, taxis, transport, internet, etc., very attentive but also gives you space. The place is very spacious, with a beautifully maintained garden, rocking chairs, few cosy corners to chill with a book and a nice coffee that Daisy will make for you. The rooms are also very comfortable, we stayed in both on different nights. Clean bathroom, comfy beds, towels for shower and also for the beach, nicely equipped fridge with beers and other drinks. On top of that, Daisy also makes really huge and yummy breakfasts and dinners if you request! Any comfort that you can get in Cuba - you get it here. The Boca town is nearby Varadero, the main beach destination, which is reachable in few minutes by taxi or bus. We preferred to spend most of our time in Boca though. It's a cute little town that has all you need: a nice little beach, surprisingly good restaurants, a shop that was best equipped that we've seen anywhere in Cuba including Havana, yummy 25 cent ice-cream place, a park with good WiFi, etc. If we come back to Cuba, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Daisy for the great time we had!

Casa Nyurka

Roberto G.Rating, 5 stars5 months ago
The space offered by Mrs. Niurka, apart from clean, cozy and comfortable, has the great advantage of being just a few steps from the beach. The tourist bus that is almost essential to know the entire peninsula, is also very close to the bedroom. It is also surrounded by very cheap places for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner But the real added value is the deal with the hostess, who diverted into attentions to us, which made us feel very special. Thank you so much Niurka!!
