This is a Vineyard home, not a house on the Vineyard! Charming and ecclectic, the style captures the original Victorian setting that Oak Bluffs is famous for . The home has been recently renovated yet retains its vintage roots. The downstairs bedroom has a private bathroom and a seperate entrance. Guests may utilize the restaurant style kitchen, laundry facilities, and enjoy a glass of wine on the quaint front porch while watching the world go by. French Press coffee is available every morning. Internet and cable are included, but with the many restaurants and shopping a 3 minute walk away , why would you need technology. We have a beach less than 3 blocks away and public transportation easily accessible ( 4 minute walk), will take you anywhere on the island. The Steamship Authority and Island Queen are within a 5 minute walk from the home. Ruby Begonia, our 170lb. English Mastiff ,will enjoy your company. We were featured in the 2014 Oak Bluffs Cottager's House Tour. And also on Town and Country Magazine Instagram, 2016.
“My time at Marushka and Michael’s was an unforgettable experience. It hit the sweet spot. Everything from the Michael picking me up at the ferry to Marushka dropping me off was excellent, just excellent. I had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with their house guests, one of whom took me on a tour of the Island the first day that lasted about 5 hours (we had lunch at a great place called Larsen’s). Marushka, Micheal, and her house guests were very warm, hospitable, caring people (I hung out at the beach with the second house guest). Even Katie their dog was delightful. Marushka’s open-door policy is a reflection of her open heart. After showing me my room and giving me a tour of the house, she turns and says with warmth in her eyes and her tone, “just make yourself at home.” The room is conveniently located on the first floor and has its own entrance. Everything was sparkling clean, organized, cozy, and welcoming with plenty of natural light. And the overall decor was a feast for the senses. I did not have a chance to use the outdoor shower, but the indoor shower felt wonderful. The queen-size bed was so comfortable, I had a hard time getting up the next morning. I imagine this is what it is like to sleep on the clouds. From the moment I arrived Marushka ensured my needs were met. The breakfast I requested was provided. Sun hats, sweaters, beach towels and chairs, and bikes were all made available if/when I needed them. We also walked around the immediate area where the house is located and, indeed, it is one of the sweetest spots on the island. The house is located in what I’ll call a residential park with historical campground houses and other colorful houses that look like life-size dollhouses. Three minutes one way you are at Inkwell beach, and around the corner in the opposite direction is downtown Oak Bluffs. There is much to see and do within walking distance of the house, or you can hop on a bike and go for a ride. Have complete confidence in booking with Marushka and Michael. They take their responsibility as hosts seriously and will make your memories on the Island unforgettable.”
Gorgeous private apartment in the upstairs of our new post & beam barn. The apartment has a private entrance and is situated above my husbands workshop. It is a studio (all one open space), with one queen bed and a futon couch, there is a kitchenette and bathroom.
“Corinna is friendly and helpful, the barn is so cozy and even cuter than I expected, a perfect sized home base for a weekend on the island. Nice touches like coffee and beach towels stocked in the room, comfortable bed, good A/C, and totally quiet after dark. Combined with all the biking and sun and wind from the days, it was some of the best sleep I had in months. Corinna's tips for the island were also helpful. Weekend couldn't have gone better!”

“Marilyn was a Gem! She provided us with everything we needed to know about the island and it's surroundings, She kept us informed throughout the entire weekend with relevant information regarding food, places to visit, weather, detailed directions to restaurants, etc! She was very prompt and accurate in her responses and she just made our trip so much easier! The house was clean and gorgeous inside and out! There's so much lighting coming in from all the windows of the house and the outdoor space was just incredible. We rented some bikes and went around town sightseeing which was a great idea because there's so much beauty in this town! I am definitely coming back soon!”
