Vacation rentals with lake access in Mangochi

The property is pristine, located right next to Lake Malawi and the staff were extremely helpful with the cooking, cleaning and management of our visit. A few power disruptions were mitigated by the back-up system but the stay was overall flawless. The owner must be an audiophile given the quality of surround sound installed in the house and also by the beautiful poolside.

I had an amazing stay at David's Airbnb by the lake in Mangochi! The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. The house was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. David was an excellent host—responsive, friendly, and always ready to help. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Mangochi.

Very clean place, Thoko is very friendly, and replies very quickly. As stated in her profile, she's not at the location but she has a very friendly and very helpful team, that helps with cooking , cleaning and anything that might come up, they are there for you. I would suggest asking them about the prices of various things sold locally before buying. As the local prices are not fixed, they are based on the appearances, a stranger is charged a "bit" or a lot more.

Highly Recommended! The Cottage & Amenities: The cottage is stunningly beautiful, offering direct access to a semi-public beach, a beautiful pool, and a private bar. The private bar, conveniently located at the beach, is a thoughtful touch – perfect for storing drinks without having to return to the cottage ( there is the host's house before you get to the beach from the cottage). Hospitality: The other amazing thing was the hospitality of Robert, the person in charge. He even offered to prepare us the breakfast and lunch, and it was amazing. We just brought the groceries and Chef Robert did his magic. Activities: There’s no shortage of activities to enjoy – from swimming and boat rides to kayaking and relaxing by the pool or beach. Communication: Ian, the host, was very responsive to all our questions and requests, enhancing our overall experience. Overall: This place is a gem for anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and adventure. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Great place - clean, safe and comfortable! The housekeeper lives next door. She is very helpful! Walkable to the village where you'll find other lodges, restaurants and small shops. The view of the lake is awesome! The furniture needs updating. Overall a great value!

Katherine was a great host! Responded very quickly, and was very accommodating to our needs/requests. Check-in instructions were super detailed and helpful. The place was brilliant, great value for money and great location; we felt right at home. Kennedy and his crew (chef and house help) were exceptional! The food they cooked was amazing. They helped us to source fish fresh for dinner. We could not have asked for a better location. Overall, it was a wonderful place; we would stay here again easily!

A great, quiet spot, a bit off the beaten path. Lots of space - 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, dining room, living room, amazing garden. Kitchen is sparse so bring your own salt, oil, etc - but they had the utensils and appliances we needed. Anwar was a great communicator, and Edith kept the place very clean! Garden was magnificent with unparalleled access to the beach.

Have stayed here a few times and it’s always great. It’s a lovely location, so nice to have a pool and Lloyd and the team are always on hand to help. Can’t wait to book again in the future!

Great spot to relax! Great hosts and very friendly

Joe’s place is located very close to the beach. He is a very hospitable host and has employees on the property that are quick to take care of any issues or concerns that you may have. It is a gated property with a car port and Joe has hired a vigilant night guard. Joe’s kitchen has all the appliances that you could ever use for a short stay — French press, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer, oven, gas burners. You will need to bring your own cooking oils and spices. I did not check out the local small markets but probably best to come with what you need. The outdoor space was wonderful and all rooms very comfortable. An incredible deal truly! We all had a massage from Nora who manages a studio at Annie’s Place down the street. This was arranged through Joe. One member of our group left an item on Domwe Island and Joe saw to it that it was returned. There is a bar adjacent to the property so light sleepers may struggle. Our group managed just fine and we even had 2 small children and a teenager. Joe has a smaller cottage adjacent to the property that sleeps 4 so between the 2 places there is plenty of space for a large party. All beds have mosquito netting. It was the perfect accommodation for us.
