Please take into consideration that the return way on foot includes a steep climb of about 100 meters. It is 700 m until the harbour of Velas.

A truly magical place, especially suited for adventurous folks who appreciate peace and quiet and an unique cultural setting. The villa is located just above a lovely hiking trail and is only a short walk to the village for groceries. You could be happy for days without a car, just reading in the hammock or listening to church bells chiming and birds calling. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals plus a washing machine! If you do have a car, visit the Melo market in Praia for fresh fish, some of the most unique species you will ever eat! The owner was quick to respond to any issues that came up (for example, the gas tank needed refilling while we were there and this was promptly addressed). Quick note: Do understand that it is normal on the island to have all sorts of critters about, and you have to be comfortable with that. But there is nothing like drinking morning coffee on the patio looking out over the ocean, far from the maddening world. We can't wait to return.

Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen, alles war perfekt. Die Wohnung sieht noch besser aus als auf den Bildern, der Ort Praia ist wunderbar ruhig und friedlich. Man kann vor Ort einkaufen gehen und an den Strand gehen, der Flughafen, der Ort Santa Cruz sowie die Caldeira sind nur eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt. Nicht weitersuchen sondern sofort buchen, wenn die Moinho de Pedra verfügbar ist!

Das AirBnB war sehr schön eingerichtet und das Badezimmer und die Küche waren sehr sauber. Ausserdem war Julia sehr nett und hielfsbereit und hat uns freundlich empfangen. Ich kann das AirBnB nur weiterempfehlen.

Sehr saubere und gut organisierte/s Unterkunft/ Hostel. Maria hat sich immer sofort um alles gekümmert und war stets für Fragen offen. Alles in allem kann ich diese Unterkunft jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der ein paar Tage auf Graciosa verbringen möchte.

I had a magnificent stay at the Moinho da Pedra! The apartment has is well equipped and cozy. The windmill is right next to the most famous Queijada bakery with another one within walking distance. It is right in front of the small islet Ilheu da praia which is a nature reserve and offers a beautiful ocean view. Not to mention that it's a unique experience to stay in one of the landmarks of the island. Because the windmill is made of stone it can get cold around evening time if visiting out of season but the apartment is equipped in a heater. The host - Joao - is such a genuinely hospitable and warm person! I recommend staying there to everyone visiting Graciosa Island
