The space
Set on a hilltop outside the spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni, Villa Serena offers a quiet retreat in the heart of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia region. The two-story, six-bedroom stucco villa is surrounded by over 50 acres of private woodland, guaranteeing privacy and peace. Stroll the formal gardens, relax by the pool or spend the day at the Roman spas in town, just minutes away.
Start the day with a coffee at the seating area on the covered patio overlooking the swimming pool, taking in the views and smelling the rose, jasmine and lavender in the garden. The patio also includes a table and chairs for al fresco dining. In spite of its rural location, the villa is well-connected, with satellite TV/ SMART TV, telephone and Wi-Fi access.
Inside, traditional style furnishings in modern, neutral tones have comfortable, casual appeal. In the living room, green gray sofas and armchairs offer plenty of seating and are set off by red and white throw pillows and a Persian-style rug. The rustic chic vibe continues in the dining room and eat in kitchen, which is fully equipped and opens to the garden to let the breeze waft in.
Each of Villa Serena's six bedrooms is air-conditioned (in the main house). The master suite has a king bed, en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet and access to a patio. Two more bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen, each have an en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet and access to a terrace. There’s one bedroom with two twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms have a queen bed and two twin beds, respectively, and a shared bathroom. Additional accommodations are available in a room with two twin beds, an en-suite bathroom and separate entrance (No Air Conditioning).
The shopping, restaurants and thermal spas of San Casciano dei Bagni are just a 5-minute drive from Villa Serena. It’s worth exploring the Val d’Orcia area, too, to sample local specialties like wine, game and cheese and take in the landscape. If you’d like to take a day trip, Cetona is a 30-minute drive away, Pienza, Montepulciano & Montalcino only 1 hour drive away, Siena is a 90-minute drive away, Florence is a 105-minute drive away and Rome is about 2 hours by car.
