Scottish Highlands retreat overlooking Loch Alsh

GregRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Russell, Justin wanted to drop you a message to say Thank you very much for a fantastic stay at The Field House Avernish. Scotland and the Isle of Skye has been on our family bucket list for a very long time. We found it very difficult to leave this morning, we found the house extremely relaxing with the most amazing views of the loch that we can’t imagine you could ever get bored of. Greg particularly enjoyed the Jura coffee machine and is currently working out which one he is going to get on arriving back home. We didn’t get to do half of the things we wanted and definitely want to come back! Our highlights of the week were: SUPing around Eilean Donan castle, Fisherman’s Kitchen Haddock wrap, seeing lots and lots of seals at Kyhlea Otter Hide but actually seeing the otter from the window of the house the next morning! Thank you so much, we are very much looking forward to coming back!

A beautiful cosy space for us to curl up in while the storms continued outside. We were lucky to have a break in the wind and rain arohnd tea time to enjoy the sun on the mountains surrounding us while cooked outside too! Very pleasant people who've created a wonderful space to stay.

Creaggan Ard Lodge

Easy to find. Beautiful view! Lovely host family. Nice bed with soft mattress. Small, clean bathroom felt bigger due to excellent layout with open style shower. We didn't use the kitchen. It's right next to the road, so you will hear traffic going by, but it wasn't a problem. It's a lot of features in a small package.

Cherrybrae Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay here. The place exceeded our expectations. So beautiful, modern, clean and well equipped for a weekend away. The views are incredible (whatever the weather) We made full use of the kitchen over our 3 night stay as the place was just too nice to leave. The decking out front was a gorgeous place for a glass of wine and a beer in the sun. The interior design was lovely and the craftsmanship in the woodwork was amazing. Bose system was great 😊 and waking up to that view each day was incredible. We climbed Ben Nevis (1hr 40min) which we would definitely recommend for anyone who likes a challenge and breathtaking scenery. Our hosts were personable, attentive and knowledgeable of the area. We will definitely return!

Tigh a Pailean

A really beautiful cottage, immaculately clean and in a gorgeous, peaceful location. The owners Carol and Andy were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. We just loved our stay here, the cottage has everything you could wish for and is appointed to a very high standard. We were blessed with great weather and loved sitting out in the garden for breakfast watching the loch and the Five Sisters. A superb location for walking and cycling.
