Lanikai Garden Studio - Licensed Since 1985!

JohnRating, 5 stars40 months ago
Even better than we expected! (And we expected it to be great). The studio is larger than we thought and every detail is carefully thought out. The place is extremely clean and very close to the beach. Do not worry about privacy, the studio has its own gate and garden area. We hope to return soon.
A living area showcases ocean views through large windows, framed by light wooden accents. A round dining table with two wicker chairs is positioned near the windows. A wall-mounted flat-screen TV is visible above, and the space is illuminated by natural light streaming in.

Absolutely Oceanfront-60'Waterfall Pool-Legal

GinaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Thomas’ rental was an amazing private retreat for me. The ocean front location is spectacular. Waking up to the sunrise, going to sleep with the tradewinds and crashing waves. It’s on a lava beach so it’s rocky but I discovered a swimmable beach 13 houses down where green turtles sometimes swim beside you. Gorgeous scenery and a peaceful, private location. The interior was immaculate and well cared for. After going to Whole Foods prior to my arrival, I didn’t leave the premises except to head down to the beaches!!! Highly recommend. I hope to spend a longer time there next time I’m back in Oahu.

Luxury Oceanfront Waikiki Beach Tower w Ocean View

DavidRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We loved this place! Tucked inside a late-'70s/early-'80s high-rise, it’s easy to overlook—but once you’re in, it’s clear you’ve found something truly special. Even with our late arrival, the friendly doorman set a warm tone. The unit itself was beautifully updated, with sleek finishes, modern appliances, and designer touches throughout—not to mention a breathtaking view. Waikiki can be crowded and slightly chaotic, but this space was the perfect retreat: quiet, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish. If you want front-row access to Waikiki without getting caught in the fray, this place nails it.

Sandy Feet Retreat Beachfront!

AlexRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved our stay here , the listing is extremely accurate and the pictures show you exactly what to expect. The condo includes everything you would need for a day at the beach and the owner gave a laundry list of great tips with places to go for food and activities. The instructions we perfectly clear and we did not need to contact the owner at all (a first for me with Airbnb) We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Hawaii. I don't know why anyone would want to stay in Waikiki when this place exists
An aerial view captures a resort area with multiple cottages nestled among lush greenery. A golf fairway stretches through the property, and miles of serene beaches are visible along the coastline. Colorful waters contrast with sandy beaches, and ample parking spaces are situated nearby.

Best Kept Secret on Oahu! and WE ARE LICENSED!!!

SusannaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We greatly enjoyed our time in his house. We had fantastic sunsets on the lanai. It was very relaxing to spent the afternoon on the lanai and to watch and hear the sea. You can easily reach a small beach from the house, which we only did for some late afternoon walks. We went snorkeling at Shark‘s Cove and at Waimea Beach, we could see a lot of fishes and turtles, inside and outside of the water. The location of the house was very good for us, you can easily reach different beaches, go on a sea shore hike or visit Pearl Harbour. The house was ideal for the two of us. We wanted to relax at the sea and do a lot of snorkeling and swimming which we could do every day. Peter was very friendly and helpful.

1 Bedroom Deluxe Ocean View - Waikīkī Shore 1306

MaggieRating, 5 stars21 months ago
This place is even better than the pictures!!! The lanai is spectacular and the view is truly magical. I loved watching the sunsets while laying in bed! With that being said this is not truly a one bedroom. The space is huge with excellent closet space and makeup area but it should be listed as a large studio. There’s a curtain to pull over to section off the bedroom area so if you’re staying here with other people, there’s no real privacy. Also they start you with one garbage bag and 2 toilet paper rolls but you’ll need to buy oil, salt, and pepper etc to cook and there was no dish soap/dish det or a sponge so come prepared. It was very convenient to rent surf boards right on the property and the little steak shack was pretty good as well. We actually didn’t spend much time on the beach here other than surfing and snorkeling for a few hours. We did see a lot of turtles and 2 monk seals at the beach! We did rent a car and parking is tight, person next to us left 5 dents in our door

Your guide to Lanikai

All About Lanikai

The eastern windward shores of Oahu are home to some of the most stunning white-sand beaches and clear tropical waters on the Hawaiian Islands. Among these, Lanikai Beach is a secluded stretch of beach adorned with shady palms and aquamarine waters that provide a picturesque backdrop to the swimmers, kayakers, and kite surfers that dot the landscape.

Facing the sea, you will be greeted with an expansive vista, with the Mokulua Islands springing up from the waters. Turning inland, the towering Ko’olau Range dominates the scenery with its jagged peaks and dense tropical vegetation. The metropolitan area of Honolulu, with all of its big-city cultural offerings, lies about 30 minutes away.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Lanikai

The Hawaiian Islands’ tropical climate maintains pristine weather conditions for most of the year, so there’s no bad time to stay in a Lanikai vacation rental. Brilliant sunny days, deep blue skies, and trade wind breezes drifting through palm canopies characterize the average weather of Oahu. Minor seasonal variations do exist between the summer and winter months, however. The winters, for example, tend to bring heavier rains and slightly cooler temperatures, while the summers are the hottest and driest times of the year.

The Hawaiian islands’ unique ecologies feature a surprising array of microclimates and locality-based variations in weather. Some regions will experience regular heavy rainfall, while a community just a few miles away could be experiencing dryness.

Top things to do in Lanikai

Mokulua Islands

Lying just about a mile offshore of Lanikai Beach, the Mokulua Islands are a protected seabird sanctuary. Kayaking and paddleboarding are the most common ways to reach the pair of islands, and on calm days the trip is relatively quick and easy. Sea turtles and crabs frequent the surrounding waters, along with migratory birds and whales in the winter. Once you’ve arrived, you can hike the islands or find a secluded beach for swimming and lounging.

Pillbox Hike

This moderate two-mile out-and-back hiking trail begins just up the road from the Lanikai Beach parking area and traces the Kaiwa Ridgeline. The path culminates at a lookout over the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, with the two Mokulua Islands in the foreground. Sitting atop the hill’s apex is a World War II-era pillbox overlooking the tropical landscape below. If you’re an early riser, this is an especially great hike to do at sunrise.

Downtown Kailua

Kailua is a seaside town on Kailua Bay, a short five-minute drive from Lanikai Beach. It has a vibrant downtown area running along the coast, with trendy cafes, creative eateries, and cozy bookstores, making this small town a wonderful spot for afternoon explorations before dipping in the ocean.
