Jannah House was the perfect space to spend a few days in Shela. We loved the suite we stayed in and appreciated the access to the beautiful rooftop. Chai was an incredible host- extremely helpful and responsive, and full of local recommendations and hands-on support. We felt right at home in Jannah and would absolutely stay again in the future! If you’re looking for a clean, beautiful, and well-appointed home in Shela/Lamu, Jannah House is the place to stay!

We had a great stay! Thanks to Ivor and to Jonathan and Johnson the housekeepers. It was easy to walk to both Lamu town and Shela, or get water taxis. The pool was great and there were fantastic views from the balconies. The bathrooms and kitchen are a little bit dated but completely fine. The house is beautiful and amazing decoration. Highly recommend for an affordable option, great for exploring and relaxing.

the place is very well maintained with friendly care takers, its located in a serene environment away from the busy lamu town, very ideal for family gate aways, you can enjoy total privacy if their are no other bookings on the property, only challenge was no food joints nearby but food can always be delivered to the house by owner owned restaurant, the house is just on the beach hence making it easy for access to boat rides, boda boda are also available. i would definitely suggest Ivor's place to anyone visiting lamu.

FANTASTIC! Ivor is an amazing and responsive host. He organized our transport from Manda Airport for a very cheap price. This location couldn't be better. Top-level professionalism when I needed *anything at all*. And because he owns so many places he is extremely flexible with catering to your schedule/shifting desires. Also, I want to give a shout-out to Sulaymān, who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I'm sticking with Ivor's properties for my travels on the coast.

Loved this place stayed June 2024. The host even arranged a boat transfer to the airport for us... unfortunately we didn't know about this service until we had got to the apartment and made our own way across the water, but do contact the host before you fly and I'm sure they'll take care of you. The space is huge, there were just 2 of us and it felt like a home. There was always someone available at the property to assist with any queries we had. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Lamu! We recommend Sailor's Joint restaurant for nice fish and amaizing mango juice at great price :D

Great place and great host. Ivor is very helpful and always responsive. We were traveling as a group of friends and he was communicating mainly with my friend, everything went very well. The place is amazing, peaceful pool in a beautiful garden, plenty of places to chill and hangout in the house. The house is walking distance from Lamu town and Shela, and it is in front of the sea. You can even see the sunrise from the terrace. Staff was helpful and nice. Only note, mattress in the bedrooms can use a renovation, they were not very comfortable. We will surely come back. I loved my stay! Suleiman was particularly great. The room did leak during some very heavy rain, but the hotel staff were able to move me straight away. Beautiful place and people.

Fantastic place - we had a wonderful few nights here - easily could have stayed longer. Great location near the beach and other amenities (restaurants etc.). Our host could not have been more accommodating in respect of arrangements or extras, nothing was too much trouble. He is almost available 24/7. The apartment has been laid out beautifully and the all that you need for a comfortable stay. There are very clear instructions for everything. Nothing to complain about! Would thoroughly recommend staying here if visiting Lamu/Shela, you won’t be disappointed. Our little 3 year old also really enjoyed it. Access to the roof terrace is fantastic as it is a great place to chill and look at the beautiful surroundings. Delicious breakfast and able to accommodate a variety of tastes including gluten free. Beds turned down and water refilled is a very nice touch. Simply wonderful!

Jannatan was a good home base for our vacation. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It's a hotel, which I hadn't fully understood; we had two private hotel rooms across a landing from one another, and the rest of the rooms in our section seemed empty, so we had a pretty, breezy roof area to ourselves. Overall, a friendly, basic place to stay. Not fancy.
