A full-service marina, a floating aqua park, and a boat and gear rental center give you plenty of opportunities to get out on Lake Las Vegas. While you could hop aboard a luxury yacht, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are active ways to spend a few hours exploring the 320-acre body of water. While you’re paddling, you’ll likely spot dragon boats and competitive rowers from the local clubs.

Oasis-like greenways dot the greater Henderson area, which claims several award-winning courses. Local golf courses have plenty to offer — from grand views of Lake Las Vegas to advanced instruction in the art of the swing.

River Mountains Loop Trail

A popular spot for cyclists, hikers, joggers, and equestrians, the non-motorized River Mountains Loop Trail offers sweeping views of Lake Las Vegas and the surrounding volcanic landscapes. The 34-mile trail has multiple access points for easy treks, while more daring outdoors lovers might tackle the entire circuit, which passes Hoover Dam, Boulder City, and Henderson.
