We had a great stay at Francis' place in Cauterets. The apartment is situated just outside of Cauterets centre (abut 10-15 min walk). This is clearly a 'ski resort' and we were there out of season so everything was very quiet with a number of shops closed, which suited us as we were looking for a quiet 'get-away'. We found it to be a good base from which to visit the most popular and interesting places in the area such as Foret de la Vallee-de-Saint-Savin, Lac du Gaube, Lourdes, Gavarnie and Col du Tourmalet, all of which are well worth a visit. Some truly spectacular scenery! We were there in May and were fortunate with the weather, a little rain, but some fabulous sunny days to see this spectacular scenery. The apartment itself was very clean, warm and comfortable. Francis lives downstairs, so was always available with help and advice should it be required. A very friendly and amenable host!

Bright and peaceful cottage, with beautiful mountain views. Several windows and skylights in the main room allow the accommodation to be well ventilated, especially when it is hot, as it was last weekend. Easy staircase to access the 2nd floor. Possibility of reaching Arrens on foot, along a meadow for a small half of the route. Very beautiful open valley with many possibilities for beautiful getaways. Maryse was accommodating and warm.
