Balai Lawaan: a charming sanctuary

Staying at Anj's place at Balai Lawaan was such a respite for the soul. It's easily accessible via Grab or taxi-- a little further away from the city center, but worth the extra few minutes of travel. We slept so soundly each night, it was actually hard to wake up! Slow mornings with a hearty balanced breakfast on the garden terrace, basking in the morning sun, and the having coffee while taking in the calming sound of wind chimes in the garden-- such a slice of paradise. Anj was an amazing host and her staff was truly very warm. Looking forward to our next stay at Balai Lawaan-- the reviews were right, it's truly a home away from home.

This is my second time to stay at Richie Joy's place and like before, it's the best! Second to None!! I felt at home and was very comfortable! The room was clean and tidy, the hot shower was refreshing, and the air conditioning unit was perfect! My beddings and towels were replaced regularly or as needed with no questions asked! The front desk staff's were very attentive and always asking if I needed their assistance. They were always willing and able to assist in any way they can. If and when I get hungry, and ordered my meal from a set menu, my hot meal is prepared in 30 minutes! I highly recommend Philippa's B&B Pension House hosted by Richie Joy!! As far as I am concerned, Richie Joy is the best AirBnB Host ever!! "I'll be back"! Vincent~~~

The room was impeccably clean, smelled great, and had everything I needed (tissue, towels, toothpaste, dishwashing liquid, utensils, etc.) It made for a really nice staycation, especially with Netflix available. Check-in was smooth, and communication with the host was fast and easy. Thank you to the host!

Doc Mechelle's is very responsive to our inquiry, the place is near La Paz Market where you can find Netongs Batchoi, Madge Cafe also near to Banks and jollibee. They also have veggies restaurant that serves from 7am to 5pm. Rooms are cozy and I love the smell of Body Wash&Shampoo ,though the toilet bowl of Room 9 is kinda off but that doesn't spoil our stay at all. Due to flight adjustment of cebu pacific which lessen the stay of some of my friends, Doc Mechelle is very understanding with the situation, she is willing to give us goodwill refund and extend our stay without additional cost. To summarize,we had a great and comfortable stay. Worth the money. Thank you also to Ms. Ellen for attending our needs during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place. Kudos and God Bless!
