Shimanto 13-ri Sensho Bridge/Glamping Style House

Hello everyone. I'm the owner. Kokobuan is a 1-minute walk from Sanri Shimofuro Bridge, the last clear stream of the Shimanto River in Japan. In the spring, you can feel the arrival of spring with the sound of birds, and in the summer, you can sleep comfortably with the pleasant river breeze. In the fall, take a walk along the river while viewing the autumn leaves, and in the winter, gather around the fireplace and share your memories. Enjoy an extraordinary space that you can't experience in the city, such as the river and nature in each season. Kokobu-an is an inn full of features, including a cypress bath, tree house, second floor veranda overlooking Shimojō Bridge, Irori fireplace, covered outdoor dining area, SUP and sea kayak rentals, and an art workbench. We recommend 6 people for a relaxing stay. (We can provide futons for up to 10 people, but it will be cramped) We provide a water server because the tap water is mountain water and cannot be used for drinking. If you are traveling by bike, you can park your precious vehicle in the dirt. It is an old-fashioned house with a magnificent main pillar, earthen walls, and built-in storage, but the first floor is completely covered with cedar boards, giving it a new feel. The water area features a newly built island kitchen and a large wash basin. The bath is a Goemon bath that uses both wood and gas, so you can cook with wood or use hot water. Outside the house, there is a friendly sign cat named Aosuke, who will come up to you if you are outside. It is located about 15 minutes by car from the Ishikari Mountain ropeway, making it easy to get to the mountains.

We renovated a 40-year-old traditional house, leaving the old-fashioned windows and beams intact. It's a perfect size 2LDK, and you can relax like you're at home. Relax your mind and body in the Hinoki bath and sun room overlooking the countryside. We also provide additive-free and environmentally friendly amenities. About 40 minutes by car from Kochi Airport. It is also within walking distance of the nearest station. It also has good access to the miraculous clear waters of the Niyodo River.

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.

Embrace the “slow life.” The space is a renovated private bungalow next to our main house. Surrounded by trees and quiet, it's an oasis to unwind, unplug, have lazy breakfasts and nap in the hammock. For more active travelers, it's a good base to explore the area. We are 9 km from Shimanto City restaurants and shopping and an easy drive to activities on Shimanto River or the beach. We do require a 2-night minimum but highly encourage you to slow down and stay longer.
