Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kochchikade

This is truly a home away from home. We were welcomed by the sweetest people to a very comfortable accommodation. The pictures really doesn't do the place justice. There's lots of space, the kitchen LITERALLY has everything you need, there's enough ACs to keep the temperature in the entire place fresh and the bathroom was super clean and homelike. It even has a bath which was really nice. There's a complete separate entrance to access the apartment so there's never any intrusion on either side. There was a really cool personalized touch that we don't find in most Airbnbs. We were gifted with fruits upon arrival and even new toothbrushes as well as toothpaste in the bathroom. We hit it off with the owners from the start and they even invited us over for dinner. They are extremely caring and generous hosts who love meeting people. The whole family is really awesome. We felt truly blessed to have passed through here and will definitely be coming back if we return to Colombo.

The Villa is stunning, even more beautiful than the pictures! The outlook from poolside was beautiful, we watched the monkeys playing in the trees while enjoying a lovely breakfast and throughout the day were visited by peacocks, iguanas and many different birdlife. What made this holiday an amazing experience was the excellent services of Chadima. Chadima is highly intuitive of what level of attention you prefer and always highly respectful of privacy and would always check before coming in the kitchen. Chadima prepared breakfast every day, asking for our preferences the night before. We also enjoyed some dinners and a lunch prepared by Chadima which were all excellent. Chadima is super proud of using the highest quality ingredients and would be at the fish markets in the early hours of the morning to get the catch of the day if fish was our choice for dinner. We also enjoyed a great fun cookery lesson with Chadima. Excellent & professional hospitality service - highly recommend.

Beautiful, stylish new house. The owner arranged excellent airport pick-up and his family showed me around the house upon my arrival. The family live next door and were gracious and helpful hosts.

We ( 2 adults and 3 teenagers) spent 2 weeks over Christmas and New year at Reshmaal's place. The vila and the pool are exactly as in the fotos. Hambele was of great help to us although his English was extremely poor. He helped with small shopping from locals and made sure we had everything we needed. He also got us a local SIM card ( it costed 1000 rupees) which was very helpful. We had the same Tuk Tuk driver, who used to pick us from the house, drop us where we wanted and then picked us up again from where we were. I suggest you do the same, because the driver knows where you live and you do not have the hassle to always explain where you live ( can be difficult). All in all we had an amazing time and we fully recommend it.

When we arrived at Janitha's villa , we were warmly greeted by his best friend , Jude , who looked after us throughout our stay , making sure we knew where places were & informing us of reasonable transport costs etc. The villa is located in a beautiful , quiet residential area where we were fortunate enough to observe many types of native wild life . Accessibility to the beach was approximately 10/15 minutes at a good walking pace but the nearest well stocked supermarket was approximately 30 minutes walk with empty bags , definitely tuk tuk on return journey with full bags ! The villa itself is as open & spacious as in the photos with mosquito nets provided in both bedrooms . Although we managed to prepare & serve a few meals in the kitchen , there could perhaps be additional utensils to make the job a little easier ( tin opener /few more sharp knives & maybe a chopping board & a sieve ). All in all , we were extremely impressed with the villa & the friendliness & helpfulness of Janitha's family & friends . We would have no hesitation in returning . Thankyou for a wonderful holiday . The biggest draw of this place is that it is right on the beach. It was ideal for us as we wanted to kick back and relax after two weeks of traveling in Sri Lanka. Step out of the house and on to the beach, go for a swim or a long walk/jog. The beach is secluded, there isn't much around the house except for an occasional fisherman, a lot of crabs and birds, and in clear skies, a view of the distant Colombo skyline. Keep in mind that there isn't a functioning restaurant anywhere nearby. Google maps might show you a couple, but none were serving food during our visit. There is a village grocery store 5 minutes walk away. The caretaker lady cooked us some really nice meals for dinner and breakfast, so we didn't miss having restaurant options around. There was a water outage on our last day, but the resourceful Mr. Lal managed to run a pump and get us all the water we needed.

Perfect place for peaceful stay. Very responsive and supportive host. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for long-term stay.

Malcoln was a great host. He waited upon arrival even though we were late after waiting for taxi. He arranged anything we needed, including a trip to wilplattu national park. He leaves you be and anything that we've asked for he's done. He even stayed with us when we needed to get up early for our tour at the national park (4am taxi pick up). Generally good place, don't expect airconditioning in every room. If I ever visit Negombo again I would certainly stay here again

Mangala, a super host with a heart of gold! After three weeks of travelling around Sri Lanka we returned to Mangala's for our last two nights. It felt as though we had come home. She made us so welcome and sat and listened to all our news. Mangala arranged and joined us for a tour of Colombo and helped us get the best price for some last minute shopping. She arranged our airport drop off and the driver she had arranged on our arrival that collected us from Kandy and stayed with us for four days was excellent. All drivers, highly recommended, were from nklanka tours and holiday. Mangala's bungalow has a homely feel, warm colours and a tranquil garden with so many beautiful, colourful birds that fill the air with delightful tropical bird song. Her garden is so very natural and full of wonderful things to eat. Thank you, Mangala, for making our stay so very special.

Devinka was wonderful! Throughout our stay, he was constantly checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed, and was very helpful in finding transportation around the area. The apartment has everything you need, including two beds. There is no air conditioning, but Devinka was kind enough to lend us two fans. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend it!

The house was very nice and we highly recommend it. It was very close to the swimming pool and several shops. It was also very easy to communicate with Ransika and her father. We overall had a wonderful time at this house.

We had lovely stay at the villa. It is very big and the swimming pool is great. Everyone was very helpful and the breakfast of Suneetha was very good. When we come back to Sri Lanka we will stay here again.

Friendly staff, easy check in, big beds with mosquito nets and an electric mosquito swat in the room - very handy! Nice little plunge pool, close enough to beach/Main Street to walk - within 10 mins or so. Very affordable. More like a guest studio, not a stand alone apartment Only small niggle was shower pressure/temperature was temperamental

We only stayed here 3 nights and immediately regretted this decision when seeing the Villa the first time. It is absolutely stunning! Incredible what you get for your Money. Everything is brandnew, very clean and of high value. Also the pool is very nice and big. The best thing is that you have the entire place for yourself and can enjoy absolute privacy. Neighbours are not directly next to the property and a wall around it will not allow anyone to look inside. Besides all this, the owners are very nice and will take care of anything. Unfortuntately we did not meet Anton but his wife Sharon and his son took very good care of us. After picking us up at the Airport they took us to a place where we could Change Money (we forgot to do it in the Airport) which had not been that easy since it was a Sunday but they were very Patient and found some open place. Afterwards they also took us to a Supermarket which would not have been necessary because they had already provided plenty of fruit and Drinks at the Villa. One evening they even invited us to dinner which we enjoyed very much. Thank you again for this nice evening! The Villa might not be right next to the beach which is no Problem at all since you have the great pool and it is only a few minutes tuktuk ride to go there. Lakhmal, the tuktuk Driver will take you there for a very reasonable Price. If you Need anything please do not hesitate to ask the owners, they will be happy to help. We were lucky that they arranged a Transfer for us with Mark, a guide and friend of the Family. Our ride with him was very interesting and enjoyable. By the way, we were the first guests so please do not be irritated by missing Reviews. All in all we can do nothing but absolutely recommend to book the Villa!! Thanks to everyone who has made our stay there so Relaxing and unforgettable. The best way to start your trip!

The listing matches the listing. The big highlight is the staff of the accommodation who are adorable! The 2 people took great care of us. We were impressed by their kindness and helpfulness, a big thank you to them!

Rohita's villa is great. It is very close to the sea - and the children loved the pool very much. For us, it was an excellent introduction to our Sri Lanka trip, also because it was easily accessible from the airport. We would love to come back.
