This is a spacious apartment above detached garage, with a roomy balcony. The property sits on the Rappahannock River- guests are welcome to use the beach and dock! Property has a private entrance. The bathroom which is located on the first floor. Apartment is up a flight of stairs above the garage. Plenty of parking. EV charger available. We have self check in and the host is extremely flexible.. We welcome all tenants! The Birds Nest is a perfect getaway destination for relaxing and fun.

Incredible weekend! Host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.. ginger cookies, loaf of rustic bread, highchair for our 1yr old and even put out puzzles for our 4yr old! Layout was awesome with primary separated from other 2 bedrooms. Enjoyed waking up to the sun rising and beautiful river views. Beds were very comfortable and house was stocked with everything you need. The private beach and playground was perfect for the kiddos and we had a blast playing all day! Would give 10 stars if we could and can’t wait to come back!

I was only at Jim and Shannon's place for one night, but I really enjoyed the time I was there. The room was cozy and peaceful, as was the house location. The woods around the house are beautiful, and the water view behind the house is scenic. Jim was kind and showed me to my room. Everything was very clean. The house was very quiet at night, even with other guests. It was only a 30 minute drive to Jamestown/Williamsburg area. I will be staying there again the next time I'm in the area.

I just want to say this place made you feel right home! Pictures were exact and I wasn’t bothered by anyone else who stay at this location! Me and friend enjoyed the boat at night on the river and was able to come and go as we pleased! Mrs. Shannon also left us a treat and the room which was so Good! I will be back! Thank You so much 😊

We had an unforgettable time at Paige's one-of-a-kind house on the Chesapeake. Her home is spacious, warm, spotless and full of charm, with unique art pieces and a most thoughtful library collection--from women rock stars to the mushroom kingdom. The chef’s kitchen was a dream, and the edible garden added a fun, fresh element to our meals. The private pier on the Chesapeake River offered serene views, crabbing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding (had the whole river to ourselves) while the rural setting was a perfect escape from big city life for adults and kids. Highly, highly recommend Paige's for anyone looking for a peaceful, creative retreat! Thank you again Paige!!
