You don't often come across a place like this on Airbnb. The more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time travel to a 19th century village in the far north of Finland. The property is best suited for a friend of Lapland's nature, history and silence, who is not afraid of the dark in winter or mosquitoes in summer. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

But you can go skiing on the lake from the yard. For the fisherman, Kemijärvi offers abundant catches. The berries are waiting for pickers right around the corner from the house.
