Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Kilkenny

Thank you Eileen for allowing us to stay in your childhood home. The house was welcoming with a quaint charm. Eileen’s love of her home was evident in her care of it. She greeted us on arrival and we enjoyed her warm nature and fun. Hopefully we will meet again next year at the Blackstairs challenge walk

This is our second visit to Weavers Cottage.. The cottage is light, airy and warm. The furnishing and fixing are all of a high standard. The cottage has every amenity you could need. It is 5 minutes from the centre of the village and the river. There are many beautiful walks from the village and nearby. Mary is a warm and welcoming host. She kindly leave basic provision to see you through your first night at the cottage. When I suffered toothache she helped us find a local emergency dentist. I cannot praise Mary or her cottage enough.

Stayed here with my family for one night. It was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. We were comfortable and enjoyed walking around the property. The kids loved the games room. Would stay here again, we loved it.

We are a group of seven women interested in walking and culture. Michael's house was perfect for us. It is in a beautiful setting, very rural but 5 minutes drive from Castlecomer and the Discovery park. Around 20 minutes drive to Kilkenny. We had loads of room with nearly everyone having their own bedroom. Great sitting room with plenty of space to hang out. We ate in the hotel in Castlecomer one evening and got a deliery from The Tuk Tuk Wok Barn the other evening which was gorgeous. We even were able to have our breakfast outside on the tables provided. Michael responded immediately with any queries and was very helpful with recommendations for food, taxis etc. Would highly recommend this beautiful farmhouse in beautiful countryside. We will be back.

Excellent house in beautiful surroundings. Lovely riverside walking trail easily accessible from the house. Highly recommended.

Eoin and Paul were very kind with us. When we arrived we found bread, milk, eggs, juice, Salt, sugar, coffee, tea and more available in the, which it was amazing!! The house is easy to find and they give me clear nstructions about the check in and check out. The house is comfortable, clean, with space for everyone, with a lovely garden, with parking for cars in front of the house. The beds and rooms were cosy .The kitchen is fully equipped, the Wi-Fi works great. They have available a high chair and cot for my baby . Thanks a million!! We enjoy the time in family in your house !!

Elaine's place was our 1st night in Ireland and we were welcomed by seeing the cows and the farm dog, Jomo. The place is very close to Kilkenny and also a few grocery stores nearby to stock up. We enjoyed our time spent at the little cottage and would recommend. Kids had a great time playing with Jomo, whom loves to fetch sticks! Elaine is very nice and we enjoyed chatting.

Amazing stay!! My boyfriend & I got engaged in the backyard! Absolutely beautiful place, and David & Irene were great hosts, who were so kind and inviting! We got a whole tour of the property and all of its history. Hopefully be back some day!

Nice place and Andrew was helpful with local information and expectations. One thing to consider is the Idler bar, which is a 5 minute walk, only takes cash so be prepared for that.

Ellen is a great host with a lovely property. We spent a couple of days with our 2 year old daughter in Ellen's house, it's centrally located, close to amenities, clean, well maintained and even had some kids toys to keep our little one entertained. Would highly recommend.

Keith made everything so easy from start to finish. The house is lovely & cozy. We were down for a wedding in Gloucester house. It is a really good location for Gloucester as it is only a stroll away. Would highly recommend Valhalla.

we couldn't recommend this fabulous accommodation enough. It is set in beautiful surroundings with spectacular views. The property is everything you need and more. The rooms are all excellent and we had a choice of relaxing spaces to chillout in. Fantastic location with great space both inside and out. We met John who was lovely to chat to and pointed us in the right direction for activities to do etc. We will definitely be returning 😊

Beautiful view of the sea and very spacious house. Dave was extremely responsive and made us feel right at home. Location also very close to a grocery store, coffee, food, etc.

Karen’s house was just what we needed. We were in Ireland for a wedding and were traveling as a family with small children. There was so much room to spread out and we had everything we needed. Thank you Karen for a wonderful experience!

This is a love song to Atherlow Castle. Our family of 6(all adults) stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave. We truly felt at home. There’s plenty of space for everyone to have their privacy in the castle but there was still such a comfortable feeling. The grounds are lovely, with the nicest looking herd of cows I’ve ever seen peacefully grazing on impossibly green grass. Freda and Declan were quintessential hosts! Friendly and unobtrusive with adorable bouncy dogs. The area, as described by a local tea shop owner we struck up a conversation with, is real Ireland not tourist Ireland. All of the major sites are within driving distance but the local area has hidden gems. We have stayed in wonderful Airbnbs all over the world but Atherlow Castle won my heart.

We had the absolute best time! The home and location was even more amazing than the photos depicted. We really enjoyed our stay and even extended it by a night!

What a beautiful place to stay in. The house is stunning and really has the wow factor when you walked in. Susan was super helpful and friendly throughout the full booking process and whilst we were in Ireland. We would 100% stay there again and hope to make it a regular holiday spot for our family. Highly recommend goosers pub on the other side of the river.

Justin was helpful from my first enquiry onwards. The property was as described & spotlessly clean. Easy & clear check in instructions received. Could not fault this in anyway.
