Great place to stay. We had cell trouble all over the black hills but the service was great at the cabin. The pool and hot tubs were awesome. Very, very clean property. They really thought of everything, they had all the things that we needed. Comfortable, easy check in and out. I would highly recommend staying here and would 100% stay here again next time in the black hills. A+++

Beautiful and secluded. Great location for the things we wanted to do. Kids loved the place. Very peaceful.

Spacious, nicely decorated cabin. Comfy beds and linens. Private, surrounded by nature, yet very close to town. Loved having our morning coffee on the large deck watching the deer and bunnies. Would definitely stay again!

It was a quiet location and big enough, also. Everything was clean and in working order. Due to the weather, the TV reception was not always available, but that was not the fault of the hostess. We had a great time!

Great Cozy cabin. Kitchen has a nice selection of essentials supplies. May want to bring paper plates/cups if you have kids and don’t want to use glass dishes. Bring your own Hot Tub towels if larger then 5 are staying, if you would like everyone to have their own as they only supply enough for how many it holds. Clubhouse was great addition but the location is down the hill and around the corner, not adjacent/across the street. Be prepared for steep driveway and lots of stairs. Quick drive to town and Terry Peak.

The cabin was just as advertised and very clean. Savannah was very communicative and quick to respond to messages. We would stay here again!

This was a great place to stop and stay on our way to Yellowstone. We stayed here a couple nights. We were close to many of the places we wanted to go in Black Hills. It was a very neat and clean space. Bathrooms were also clean and comfortable!

We loved this campground. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. Tons to do during the day in the surrounding area. We explored Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, took the 1880 Train from Keystone to Hill City, and lots more in the area. It’s all easily accessible from the camp. In the evening, the kids enjoyed swimming at the pool while my wife and I relaxed. The cabin itself was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of amenities. And the staff at Buffalo Ridge were nice phenomenal. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it to others.

This was our second time staying here and couldn’t be more happy with our stay. A perfect place to stay if you got a big group. Excellent location for getting to the snowmobile trails and just a quick ride to Deadwood.

My only complaint when booking this place is it’s kind of confusing to find. You will be staying at the HTR BLACK HILLS RESORT not a typical Airbnb however it is still all very nice. The check in is at the main office on the resort. I never received check in instructions so I had to figure that part out for myself and “Jerry” will never respond to any texts you send on the app. I’m assuming you’re supposed to just call the resort? Other than that slight confusion with finding it and checking in I have no complaints and this cute, homey cabin. It is truly a great place in an amazing location with excellent views of the hills!

Our stay was amazing, it was the perfect mountain getaway from the city we live in! The cabin is located in a very quiet and secluded mountain community. We got to see lots of wildlife and we even a had a snowy day. Our stay was very peaceful and centrally located for our Black Hills adventure. We would definitely like to stay there again!

We had a great stay. Host reached out ahead of time to make sure we had all the info we needed, and was very quick to call us when we needed something during our stay to make sure it was sorted out. If you’re looking for a remote, beautiful place to have a genuine Black Hills stay, this is a great spot. Great views, super cool cabin with lots of privacy. Very close to Keystone and pretty central to hiking and landmarks.

The cabin was beautiful, as well as the surroundings! It was easy to find and was near so many ATV trails. There was ample parking and we were able to fit two pickups with trailers and there was still extra space! The interior of the cabin was beautiful and the kitchen was amazing. The cabin came with everything you may need and was very clean. Angela was so kind and very responsive. We enjoyed our stay greatly!

We loved our stay in the stargazer cabin! It was such a beautiful property, clean, and peaceful. Mackenzie’s recommendations for activities and restaurants were great! The heated mattress pad was perfect for our September stay! We would definitely stay here again 😊

My mom and I recently stayed at Holy Smokes in South Dakota, and it was absolutely wonderful! The place was clean, quiet, and peaceful — just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. One moment that really stood out was when I realized I forgot my corkscrew, and the sweet lady at the front desk didn’t hesitate to help me open my bottles of wine. It’s those little acts of kindness that make a stay memorable! The property was also perfect for our dog — lots of space and a safe, comfortable environment. You can tell the people who run Holy Smokes truly care about their guests and take pride in maintaining such a lovely space. It felt like a home away from home, and my mom and I are already talking about coming back. I’d highly recommend Holy Smokes to anyone traveling through South Dakota, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, pet-friendly place with great hospitality. You won’t be disappointed!
