Cabin vacation rentals in Kendall County

I can't say enough great things about Micky and Vicky. They were awesome from start to finish. The day before our stay we found out that the original cabin that we booked had been accidentally double booked. We had originally booked a two bedroom cabin for my wife and I and another couple. Micky and Vicky called us and said that, due to the double booking, they were going to put us in two other cabins. One for my wife and I and one for the other couple. When we arrived and saw that those two cabins were too small for us we called Micky and Vicky. Understanding our problem the quickly offered to trade with us. Micky and Vicky would stay in the small cabin, and they allowed us and our friends to stay in their private 3 bedroom residence. That's right. They allowed us to stay in their own private residence while they loaded up their animals and personal belongings to move to the small cabin during our entire stay. How's that for customer service. They were absolutely the best hosts ever.

Great Place!

Vicky and Micky made us feel very relaxed and welcomed. We loved that our stay was away off from the road which made our stay quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the country setting.

Home Away Ranch is not just a place to stay, but a place to rest fully, to meet amazing animals, and to enjoy a beautifully appointed cabin in the most beautiful place on Earth. Vicky and Micky have created a sanctuary for animals here, but it is also a sanctuary for human beings, a place of profound healing and beauty. I've never seen a more beautiful place. They offer gourmet meals, horseback riding lessons, gun range lessons, and expertly selected wines and mixed drinks. The goats are so fun to watch, with babies climbing trees! But truly what makes this place special is Vicky and Micky, living angels whose loving faith lives in their works and not just in their words. If you need a deeper rest that a simple "place to stay" can offer, Home Away Ranch is where you want to be!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. They have a great thing going with rescue animals and birds. Micky took us on a tour and told us heart warming stories how they adopted these animals. This was an “experience “ and not typical Airbnb accommodations! Highly recommend!

It was so quiet that’s what impressed me the most And within 20 minutes, you could be right in town Which was nice I love animals. It was awesome.

My wife and I loved our stay. The location was perfect just a few miles outside downtown Boerne. We were able to enjoy our day and quickly get away from it all on beautiful land with great cabins that feel like a true escape. The cabins were well appointed with everything we needed. Our hosts thought of everything and made our stay perfect. We had a nice chat with very hospitable chickens in the morning. And the most friendly donkey ever wished us well when we left. Don’t think twice, this is a great place to stay and the hosts are top notch. We feel like we have new friends in Boerne that we look forward to visiting again very soon.

Vicky and Micky were so helpful and very responsive to my questions even before booking. The location was exactly as pictured but was even better than I imagined. My husband and I loved that we had a little piece of home away from home with all of the animals on the property. The unit was clean and comfortable. The property was easy to locate and Vicky and Micky gave us detailed instructions/pictures on how to locate our unit since we were arriving after dark. My husband and I cannot wait to visit again and bring our boys to this little piece of heaven.

Elizabeth was very helpful and understanding. Place was beautiful and peaceful. Totally recommend anyone to stay there.

Our family had a great time at Kimberly’s place. We loved that the location was nestled right in the hill country. We went on many walks & runs during our stay. Kimberly & Jonathon were great hosts & were very responsive during our stay. We also loved the fact that there was a pool & bbq pit as well.

Good furniture, comfortable bed, and a very sweet, beautiful, friendly cat that loves everyone makes a person feel at home in the very peaceful setting you will find yourself in. A very relaxing atmosphere

I can't say enough about Vicky And Micky, they were fabulous! We did the tour and the horse back riding and we even decided to do the dinner. Everything they are doing that farm is amazing and all non-profit to help save animals. If you're hesitant about dinner and price looks too much, DON'T BE! We were hesitant but they sincerely out did themselves. They have a culinary background and wowed us from beginning to end, it absolutely worth every penny! They know what they're doing in kitchen and tailored everything to our likes. It was such a relaxing weekend to get way, very nice place.

Loved this "Hideout" for our weekend get away to the Hill Country. We loved that the place was in between Bandera and Boerne and we were able to explore both towns. The two horses on the place were amazing and it was fun getting to give them snacks. We were welcomed when we got to the Hideout by the owner and we were gifted a used horse shoe. Wished we could have stayed longer to utilize the place more like the fire pit and walked around. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family in the future. There wasn't anything we would change about the stay as we felt at home.

Stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. Very close to downtown Blanco so spent Saturday exploring the little charming town. Very peaceful at night and clean overall. If you’re very squeamish about bugs, this may not be the best for you. Pill bugs were everywhere (personally didn’t bother me and I understand their role in the ecosystem).

This was our second stay at Rick and Sharon’s cabin and what a perfect spot! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Bucky cabin. Sharon is the perfect host, quick to respond to any questions you might have and has created such a beautiful space to visit. It’s well beyond comfortable and she has thought of everything you need for a wonderful stay! And the location! It’s perfect! The scenery from the covered front porch is beautiful and such a sweet spot to sip your coffee or tea and listen to all the birds. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for our visits to the Hill Country!

My stay at the Nook and Cranny was memorable. The cabin is adorable with first rate accommodations. Wendy was a lovely host. The location is like its own vacation, with stunning views, was private, and surrounded by nature's beauty. Single travelers should feel safe and welcomed. I recommended Wendy's place to family and friends. I will not hesitate to return in the future.

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary and Easter at this beautiful property! We loved that it was secluded and we were able to enjoy sitting on the back porch and watch deer. One of the special treats…They provide farm fresh eggs, Coke, Coke Zero, hot tea, and coffee. Additionally biscuits & o.j. (When you let them know)! There was a storm that came in and we felt safe, never lost power, and they checked on us to make sure we were ok! We were not focused on tv time or our phones, but internet is limited. The location is secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for. There are games and a dvd player with movies, and books too! The drive is absolutely gorgeous, but it does take about 25-30 minutes to get to Fredericksburg. Which was perfectly fine with us to enjoy time together! The time we spent at the cabin was perfect! You’ll definitely want to grab your bags and reserve your stay now!

We had a very peaceful Memorial Weekend at the “Follow your Heart Cabin”. Thanks to Amy & Alexa, we felt like we were home.

Came here with my partner for my birthday. We had so many plans to go do things for example going to San Antonio. We decided just to stay and relax after getting to the bunkhouse. We enjoyed the privacy, the peaceful surroundings and all of the nature. Loved the set up of the house. It was a very cozy vibe, and it was lovely to be able to take a bath and that huge tub water was definitely hot and enjoyable. Seeing all of the animals was such a plus the sunsets are breathtaking. We even got to experience a little storm and that was awesome being Stuck in the house watching a movie and just enjoying our time. Would definitely recommend staying here especially if you’re wanting to get away from the city life. We would definitely come back. Also the town Boerne was very cool. Had a lot to do for it being a small town we recommend trying the huge cinnamon roll the size of your face at Richter Bakhaus. Relaxing in the pool with that view is something we miss and hope to experience again soon

The love shack was perfect for a weekend away! We grilled, enjoyed the hot tub, relaxed by the fire ring and on the back porch with gorgeous views. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, from fire wood for the fire ring to k cups for the coffee pot, and lots of clean towels. We came down for a motorcycle rally, and scenic rides, but this was such a perfect little cabin, that we will absolutely be back. The host was thorough with the instructions, and super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We were secluded but not too far from grocery stores or restaurants, they were just a little drive away. The bed was SO comfortable too, we both slept great! We had a wonderful time here at the love shack, and can’t wait to come back.

I want to stay at Valerie’s place over and over. Beautiful, private, and teeming with wildlife. Sitting on the front porch watching the birds fly by and the deer drink water below in the lake was the highlight of our trip. Also check out their coffee table book on Texas Gangsters— so cool!

Amazing, refreshing getaway spot! Will definitely be recommending to anyone traveling into that area!

Jennifer thought of everything. From the fresh flowers, calm music playing as we entered, homemade chocolate chip cookies, bottle of wine, and fresh eggs from her chickens, everything about this place welcomed us. It was pristinely clean, and well laid out. The mini split ACs worked perfectly. There was also food to feed the deer and birds if you want to see them come close. Even though you’re just a few miles from the center of Boerne, it feels like you’re out in the woods. There is beautiful, outdoor seating - great places for a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of coffee in the morning. Beautiful surroundings, easy to find, and all you have to do is punch a code to get inside. There was a notebook with lots of information about the area, places to eat and things to do. The beds were so comfortable, and checkout was simple. Will definitely come back to this beautiful little spot.

Staying at this little cabin was the perfect choice for our little getaway. It was comfortable and private, and provided all the amenities needed for a little vacay. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us.
