This is not often the kind of place to stay on Airbnb. A more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time journey to a 19th-century Ostrobothnian village. The destination is best suited for lovers of Lapland's nature, history and silence, who are not afraid of the dark in winter or mosquitoes in summer. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

Adorable luxury cottage for four on Suomutunturi

An all-new winter cottage built in a traditional log log frame in 2019. In the cottage, you can relax in a hotel-level bed looking at the fireplace. The small kitchen is superbly equipped. A great sauna heats up at the touch of a button. The cottage is located in the immediate vicinity of Suomutunturi, about 145 km from Rovaniemi Airport. In addition to skiing and skiing, the area also has excellent opportunities for outdoor activities and camping in the summer. The hotel rents skis and organises tours.

A wooden pier extends into calm waters, surrounded by lush greenery. The structure features two benches on either side, with a set of steps leading down into the water. A clear blue sky is reflected on the surface of the lake.

Our holiday home is situated in Kemijärvi 85 kms/ 53 miles north-east from Rovaniemi. Nice peaceful 71 m2 apartment close to the nature. You can rest hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, picking berries or mushrooms - whatever you like. Kemijärvi is a town of 6000 inhabitants in the middle of two lakes just above the polar circle. Sauna. There are good trails for crosscountry skiing almost from our front door. The distances to the downhill skiing areas: 45 kms to Suomu and 53 kms to Pyhä.

From the deck, a great view of the lake! There is no indoor toilet in the cottage. Instead, there's a traditional Finnish outdoor shower in the yard. This offers a unique, authentic cabin experience near nature!

Our igloos are 32m² in size and can accommodate two to four persons. The motorized double bed is directly under the glass ceiling. Separate extra beds are made from the sofa. All igloos are equipped with a toilet and a shower, a TV, a drying cabinet for outdoor clothing. All rooms have a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, cooking hobs, dinnerware and cutlery, a kettle, a coffee maker, a microwave oven and a dishwasher.

Rauhallinen paikka. Mökkiä remontoitu 2023. Kaikki sängyt ja petivaatteet uusittu.

The place is as described, despite "grandma style" everything was very neat, tidy and clean, the house offers plenty of space and a lot of toys for children. There are new mattress toppers and new bedding, very warm and good. The kitchen has incredibly good amenities. We enjoyed the bath and sauna. We were very satisfied! Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi.

We arrived late, having the coded door for check in was a great start. The home was warm and inviting. It had everything you will need, the owners even left us a welcome bottle of Prosecco 😍. Communication from the owners before, during and after was excellent. Highly recommend this accommodation… we saw the northern lights from our bedroom window and I can’t tell you how close you are to the ski slopes. The sauna is like something out of a movie…. We enjoyed an evening in here while watching the kids play in the snow …. Bliss 🙌🏼….Amazing stay start to Finnish

The accommodation is a dream and the view from the bed was special. The communication was good, it was a very clean and modern accommodation. The check-in and communication went smoothly. The accommodation is also perfectly located for excursions in Salla. We would book the accommodation again anytime! Unfortunately we have to deduct one point at check-in. When we arrived at the accommodation in the evening, all the heating was off. The flat felt as cold as outside. We first had to deal with the heaters and see how they turned on. It would have been nice to have some basic warmth in the flat and not end up in a freezing cold flat. Therefore, the arrival was unfortunately not relaxed and it took some time for the flat to heat up. This could definitely be improved for future guests. Nevertheless, we had a great stay and can recommend this accommodation.

We had a really good time at the Lapland Arctic Cabin. The Cabin is located in a beautiful area directly at a big lake. In winter it is really cosy and perfect for a couple. Everyone we came in contact with were really friendly and communication with Milla was easy. For us it made the Lapland experience perfect.
