We really enjoyed our stay at Kari's place! it does look exactly as described and totally worth staying there. It is not far from the Mines of Spain and Galena and it felt great to stay in such historic building.

Gehlen House was charming and historical. It was beyond clean, and extremely comfortable. Kari thought of everything and paid attention to detail. She provided amenities for us before we even realized we wanted it The area was comfortable, the shared spaces were large enough to accommodate everyone and it was decorated beautifully. She even put food in the refrigerator and provided breakfast items for us. I hope to return and would highly recommend Kari and Don in the future! Make sure you get to the barn!

We needed a place to get off the road on short notice and we were fortunate to find this beautiful historic place to lay our heads. Kari was friendly and her inn was well appointed. I wish we had time to examine all the historical info and visit the beer barn. We had a peaceful quiet night.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here! Bill welcomed us warmly and provided helpful recommendations for the area. Great location a short walk from Main Street. The room was clean and we enjoyed sitting by the fire after our adventure, imagining who had been sitting there nearly 200 years before us.

Excellent place to stay! Vey comfortable large room and bathroom with jetted tub. Best part was breakfast. Best pancakes I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t even call them pancakes, they r something else. Thanks for being such a great host Paul. My wife and I would love to come back and will be recommending your place to friends and family for sure.

Staying at Aldrich Guest House enriched our trip to Galena. The home is lovely, very comfortable, and EXTREMELY CLEAN. Robert and Douglas are excellent hosts-very accommodating and personable. My husband and I, when traveling, prioritize cleanliness, location, and comfortability. Aldrich House offers all three -- the bed was comfortable, linens luxurious, and our room spotless. The B&B is a short walk to Main Street making it very convenient so we didn't have to struggle to find parking in town--we just left our car at the Inn. Don't skip the breakfast--delicious. We are already looking forward to returning to Aldrich House.

The property is beautiful. Miriam had great communication with us through the whole experience. She even went the extra mile and went and got some cake and ice cream for my mother to help me celebrate her birthday. Breakfast was great, and Miriam was overall a very kind and accommodating host. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable and so was the shared space. It was wonderful to sit out on the deck and there were a lot of seating options. Very close to restaurants and amenities in town. In fact, within walking distance!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Paul was very hospitable and the place was cozy and very accommodating. We felt right at home. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous and we loved the historic feel of the building. If we’re in galena again, we’ll be back.

Great hospitality and quiet, clean rooms and bathrooms. Bed was very comfortable. Beautifully restored property with a rich history and connection to the town. Had a killer breakfast before we left (food was great too). Would recommend 10/10 in Galena if you want a nice and comfortable stay close to town

Wonderful stay! The place was easy to find, clean, and beautifully historically decorated. Paul, the host, was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the history of the house. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and really topped off the whole stay!

Our stay at the Aldrich Guest House was absolutely amazing! Both Robert and Douglas were kind and helpful with local recommendations. The room and house were beautiful and very clean, and the breakfast was phenomenal! I would recommend anyone coming to Galena to stay here!
