*As featured in ‘Individual’ by Jessica Bellef (published by Murdoch Books)* Bimlow Cottage is a historic 1890's rural property on the doorstep of the Blue Mountains, Jenolan Caves, Mayfield Garden, Waldara and Kanangra-Boyd National Park.
“Georgie’s historic cottage is so cosy and beautiful. She has clearly put her stunning personal taste and amazing collecting abilities to good use in the decorating of Bimlow. We were welcomed with a lovely selection of local produce and fresh eggs from her chooks for breakfast, great home brewed coffee and a warm and comfortable set of beds for a good nights sleep. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully for an extra long weekend so we could explore the area even further. A walk around Edith, a trip to Oberon and lunch at the Argyle Inn at nearby Taralga made for lots of things to keep us busy between games of cards and drinks in front of the fire at Bimlow. The property is friendly too, my three year old loved his country weekender!”
Pine Needle Cottage is a quaint, cosy 2 bedroom house in town on a quiet suburban street, which has been fully renovated on the inside for your comfort throughout the year. Our cottage provides you with all the little things that make your stay comfortable. Oberon is the perfect place to explore the beautiful pine forests, go mushroom foraging, fossicking, truffle hunting, fishing, enjoying a drink and seasonal produce at Mayfield Gardens or just having a cuppa by the fireplace.
“Had a lovely stay at Pine Needle Cottage! It has been beautifully renovated inside, with new furnishings and very comfortable beds - and there is plenty of space! The location is wonderful - we were visiting for the annual Oberon Rodeo, and it’s a short walk to both the Showground and the shops / restaurants. A particular highlight of our stay was sitting out on the back veranda, either having coffee in the morning or enjoying a beer in the afternoon - it’s a lovely space, and very peaceful. Jessica is a lovely host, prompt communication and provided all the information in advance. We had a lovely stay and I’ve already recommended it to a friend heading to Oberon in a few weeks time! Thanks Jessica!”
A comfortable home nestled on 3 acres. If you stand on your toes you get lake views from the kitchen window. Cosy wood fireplace and central heating sets the scene as winters here can be quite cool The gardens established around the home give colour most of the year. Spring being the most colourful when the cool climate bulbs come forth. This garden is open to the public in September to view the hundreds of varieties of Daffodils.
“After an awesome day at Mayfield Gardens, we drove 10 mins to Brydie Park and was greeted by Brenda who offered us tea and gave us some local tips for dinner. She was very accommodating and in the morning she left us ingredients to cook our own breakfast as well as freshly squeezed juice. Her garden was a lovely surprise which was like a mini Mayfield. Well located and great hospitality. Highly recommended.”
