Guest suite in Hollywood Hills West
Hollywood Hills Jetliner Views / Privacy / Luxury Amenities
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE VIEW at STUDIO 1080, a perfect Hollywood Hills getaway that’s 1080 feet above sea level. Daydream while enjoying your jetliner vistas over the city. Work from huge glass desk & speedy Wi-Fi for remote biz deals. High-end, high-tech amenities & creature comforts galore: Espresso machine, dishwasher, dedicated HVAC system, AT&T fiber internet, 55" 4K Smart TV w/ SONOS surround system. Let Alexa set the mood: Simple voice commands control lighting, ambient sounds or streamed music & automated blackout shades. Heated bathroom floor & comfy raised bed ensure total relaxation. STUDIO 1080 is at the top of a steep hill with 11 acres of undeveloped Laurel Canyon wilderness just below your window. Watch the hawks circle and soar. Sometimes the Goodyear Blimp floats by the window. Perched in the Hollywood Hills, you're close to either the city or San Fernando Valley, with Hollywood, West Hollywood, Universal Studios and Beverly Hills all nearby. GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD! There's a great neighborhood walking loop just outside your door. A 20-minute walk on the loop is approximately one mile. I'm available when you need me. You're adjacent to Stones Throw, my home, but thanks to your separate entrance from the street and driveway areas, we may not see each other. Rest assured, I'll respond to any questions STAY AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN! 1080 feet above sea level & eye level with the tallest building in LA. Country living in the midst of the city. Hike with celebrities in Runyon Canyon, tour Universal, shop in Beverly Hills, or Uber your way to nightlife in WeHo or Sunset Strip. Being on top of the world means you need to get here & our quaint Laurel Canyon roads can be narrow, curvy & often slow with traffic. Please consult the WAZE app for live traffic & route info to 2192 Beech Knoll Road, LA. The lyrics to the song "Nobody Walks in L.A." remain fairly true. You may want a rental car to get around, but more than half of my guests skip driving and use UBER or LYFT — nearly any kind of car can be at our door in 5-10 minutes. For those who do drive, free street parking is readily available on my street (although watch for no-parking signs on some areas). Don't drink and drive! Let UBER get you home! Or just stay home at STUDIO 1080, order delivered food and sit with your glass of wine, enjoying one of the most spectacular views in Hollywood from your private patio! Please note there are steps to Studio 1080 down from street level to your keyless-locked private patio entrance. Street parking is readily available within steps of your entrance. Regarding sleeping arrangements: I think this space is best suited for one or two people, who sleep together in the cozy bedroom niche, which has a brand new king-sized Casper memory foam mattress with super-comfortable pillows and linens on an 18" platform. Please note the mattress extends wall to wall, with comfortable padded leatherette wall panels as a headboard. I personally LOVE it!! When you’re tucked into bed, just say, “Alexa, turn on NITE NITE,” then the music stops and ALL lights fade to black while the motorized shades close. The room has an HVAC vent and a small Vornado fan for moving air, and you can say, “Alexa, open Thunderstorm Sounds” if you need that kind of white noise to sleep. It’s a peaceful quiet area, so there’s not much noise, although you probably will hear the coyotes howl to each other in the canyon. SOFA BED (see before/after photos of folded-out sofa in lounge space at end of my pix): The sofa sleeper bed has a single-sized mattress with topper and bed linens. While it is functional, and I’ve made it as comfortable as possible, it's still a fold-out sofa sleeper and takes up much of the living room/lounge area, making it more difficult to get around the room -- to kitchen and bathroom -- while it's extended. The sofa sleeper is perfect for a teen or child traveling with her parents, but may be a tight fit for an adult. Although I'll let my guests decide what is best for their needs, I wanted to be proactive in describing the space and its capacity. Thanks for looking and booking! If my space is appropriate for you and your party, I look forward to being your host! ERIC

Private Loft In the Hollywood Hills (by Universal)
Private, Self-contained Suite in the beautifully winding roads of the Hollywood Hills; 5 min walk to Runyon Canyon. Private Entrance/Bathroom; Queen Bed; Disney+/HBO/Netflix/Amazon Prime. Free parking spot. The suite is deep-cleaned: interior surfaces, remotes, handles, linens cleaned at high temps - we all need a bit of peace of mind these days :) To increase value, I lowered the price to allow for LA’s Hotel Tax; High costs these days, and I wanted to help out wherever I could :)

Your guide to Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles

Welcome to Hollywood Hills

Abutting the Santa Monica Mountains, cut through with dramatic, wooded canyons, and threaded with hiking trails that offer panoramic views of the glittering metropolis below, the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles is where you go to experience Tinsel Town glamour of yore. This is where movie stars, execs, and Hollywood’s workaday toilers lived when the major studios were all still located nearby. Its bold-name attractions include Mulholland Drive, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Hollywood sign, which stands guard over it all. Tucked into the hillsides and canyons are historic homes designed by famous architects and charming Spanish Colonial Revivals with their signature red tile roofs. The allure of Hollywood Hills is decidedly more rustic than such ultra-ritzy locales as Beverly Hills, and it was a countercultural hub in the 1960s and ’70s. This place exudes a casual swankiness, and plenty of famous folks still call it home.

When is the best time to stay in a vacation rental in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles?

Spring and summer are sure bets for long, bright days ideal for hiking or park-going in the Hills. Los Angeles’ generally warm and sunny weather is why entertainers put down roots here in the first place, so visitors can expect pleasant temperatures year-round, although rain, cooler days, and overcast mornings aren’t unusual in the fall and winter. If you hope to catch a show at the Hollywood Bowl, its programming typically runs from June until September.

What are the top things to do in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles?

Griffith Park

The Art Aeco Griffith Park Observatory, with its distinct domed roof, is undoubtedly the most famous attraction in this 4,210-acre park that is home to two museums, an amphitheater, a carousel, myriad recreation facilities, and hiking trails. There are oddball sights to see here, too, such as the cave that served as the entrance to a lair featured in a famous TV series and the ruins of a long-abandoned zoo.

Laurel Canyon

This wooded community of sprawling estates and bohemian cottages, many hidden on secluded roads, was a nexus of rock ’n’ roll culture in the 1960s and ’70s. Cruise this picturesque slice of California history for a chance to see historic homes, including an Edwardian mansion equipped with a deep water tank where a famous magician practiced his escape routines.

Runyon Canyon Park

Forget trying to nab a reservation at the latest dining hot spot — if you want to see a celebrity, try hiking the scenic grounds of this popular park. Many stars have been photographed exercising or walking their pups in this 160-acre park. With wide mountainside trails that offer breathtaking views of the canyon and Los Angeles, rest assured you’ll get a great view regardless of whether you see someone famous.
