Family-friendly vacation rentals in Guysborough County

Being pet friendly and having a large fenced in area for them to run around in was very nice.

Situated meters from the water, our cabin was a perfect couples get away. Thoughtfully appointed, extremely clean and above all very private. Although there are a couple of cabins on the property, there never was a time where we felt the presence of others. The hot tub privacy and views are amazing, and our hostess was very responsive. Above all, definitely a stay we want to do again. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting to experience a natural and private couples retreat.

We really enjoyed staying here - it was peaceful, secluded and had really beautiful surroundings. Liane was very responsive, really helpful and always polite and friendly in her communication but otherwise the hosts gave us privacy and space. We loved spending time in the spa late at night; the landscaping and lighting made it very atmospheric and relaxing. We also really enjoyed the fire pit and BBQ, and walking through the woods and nearby St Esprit beach. The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. I couldn't recommend this place more if you are looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to spend a few days. It's also only a 25 minute drive to Saint Peters if you are looking for shops and restaurants. Our only complaint was that the weather wasn't good enough for us to take the kayaks out for the first couple of days, but sadly no-one can change the weather and it was a good excuse to sit by the fire pit instead!

We had a lovely time. Cozy, warm, comfy cottage. Very comfortable beds. The wood stove at this time of year was perfect. It’s really not a cottage without a wood burning stove or fireplace. There were a number of unforeseen occurrences (e.g. power outage, electronic device failure) during our visit, all taken care of beautifully by staff and owners! Thank you!

Tranquil, peaceful and homey. John & Sandy’s cottage was a wonderful place to decompress for a few days. On our first morning we were treated with fresh free run eggs from the lady who cleans the cottage. ( this was prearranged for a small fee). We loved our walks along the beach and were able to take in the beautiful sunset’s. We appreciated the lighting along the pathway to the cottage from the beach. The location was the perfect spot to set off on our exploration of the island. We will certainly be back in the fall when the locals say the colours of the leaves are magnificent.

The Blue Heron cottage was a very comfortable place to stay. The water-view was spectacular. We have been to Cape Breton before, but this time decided to explore Isle Madame - beautiful area and the location of the cottage was just perfect for us.

great hosts, and easy to deal with..the place we stayed was just what we were looking for and better than we expected. very private, and relaxing. would love to come back anytime.

Cute little historical house within walking distance to Pondville Beach. Peaceful and serene.

Such a beautiful spot - right on the ocean with water views all around. The house worked very well for the 8 of us with lots of room to spread out and the beds were nice and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with lots of dishes and gadgets. Wish we could have stayed longer. The host was attentive and quick to respond if needed. Hopefully we get back to visit again.

The location is great, and the view is breathtaking. Jonathan and Adrea were most helpful.

We booked this place last minute on a road trip and Rochelle was so accommodating, very responsive, and even took the time to leave some lights on (since we’d be arriving late). Cozy cabin with beautiful views. Highly recommend.

Donna's place was very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was very well supplied for making meals. I also appreciated the ample parking (two full-sized pick-up trucks fit easily) and proximity to great places to eat (I was sometimes too tired to use the fine kitchen)! Donna made the stay easy and convenient - thanks!

The cabin is one of four cabins - probably very convenient if traveling with a group. It overlooks a water inlet. The cabin is well kept up but fairly basic in terms of dishes, etc. There is a beach nearby but we didn't visit it due to the mosquitos.

Super location direct on the water! House is well equipped to make stay comfortable and enjoyable. Communication with Robert was excellent.

The house on the lake was just what we needed to enjoy a cousin get-away! The house has plenty of indoor space to socialize and relax. The outdoor space was stunning ~ loons, heron, and otters entertained us in the lake. There are extra bedrooms and bathroom in the converted garage. It is very peaceful and the scenery is beautiful.

Perfect spot. Perfect house. So clean, spacious and confortable. We are eager to go back. We highly recommand.

We had a great stay. Handy downtown location, walking distance to restaurants and University. We arrived late, Anthony still took the time to walk us through everything and recommend a great pizza place! Beautiful property, the rental had everything we needed.

Jyotsna was very accommodating with our requests. I had a bit of trouble communicating with her because Air BnB wants all communication done thru them and I had left my password at home. However Jyotsna kept in touch so I read able to reply to her texts. Thank you!
