Saramoussaya offers a good look at genuine village life. In my house I have a real bed with a mosquito net, a solar panel for charging phones, computers etc. And although there is no running water, I've rigged up a hand/dish washing sink and an overhead shower. I also have a gas stove for cooking. Plus, my next door neighbor is a baker :)
