Pick a movie from the collection and play it on your DVD player. There’s a satellite television and games console. Staying connected with the outside world is also an option with Wi-Fi. Later, you might fancy cooking up a feast on the gas grill.  Drowsy from all the sea air and sunshine, you’ll be looking forward to a sound night’s sleep and Villa Estelle’s three air-conditioned king-size bedrooms can offer just that. All the home comforts are here, from LCD televisions and the finest linen to modern en-suite bathrooms with showers. Thalassa Residence

Think about the warmth of the sun and the cool of the sea breeze—and nothing else—at Thalassa Residence. This newly built Crete vacation rental is designed for relaxation, whether that means napping in the sun, making memories with friends and family, or a little bit of both. Its six bedrooms can accommodate groups of up to twelve, while a location near the town of Panormos is convenient to shopping and dining. You’ll want to spend most of your holiday on the villa’s stunning terrace, which features a swimming pool, hot tub, tempting row of loungers, sitting area, barbecue and pergola-covered dining area, all with views of the sea. Inside, however, you’ll also find luxury amenities from a games room and sauna to a private exercise room and elevator. Sliding glass doors that run nearly from wall to wall make the villa’s L-shaped great room feel like an extension of the terrace. Understated furniture and stone floors look chic (and feel cool underfoot) in the living and dining areas, while a sleek corner fireplace will add warmth if you want it. The kitchen, on the other side of the L, is fully equipped and has an inviting breakfast bar. Each of the six bedrooms at Thalassa Residence has a king bed, en-suite bathroom and TV, and several of the suites open to a balcony or terrace as well. Like the main living areas, the bedrooms are bright and stylish, with refined details like tufted headboards or graceful side chairs, plus spa-worthy bathrooms splashed with stone tile. The villa’s location in the Rethymno area is a 10-minute walk from Panormos Beach—a quieter stretch of sand perfect for a honeymoon-style stroll or splashing with the kids—and an 11-minute walk from the town of Panormos, where you can take care of shopping, explore the cobbled streets or sample the local tavernas. All about Greece

Planning a Vacation in Greece

From the mountainous mainland to iconic whitewashed Cycladic villages and idyllic beaches, Greece promises a trip filled with postcard-perfect sights and cultural discoveries. Whether you choose to stay in Santorini, Paros, Corfu, or elsewhere, you’ll find an abundances of things to see and do during your vacation.

Embark on an Epic Adventure at Sea

With many boats and ferry routes departing for Greece on a daily basis from Italy and Turkey, Greece makes for the perfect stop during a Mediterranean tour. Novice sailors wanting to earn their sealegs or experienced captains can find boat rentals and supporting staff to help them weave their way through the islands. From party boats to private sunset cruises, there is an adventure at sea for each and every type of traveler.

Discover Greece’s Natural Wonders

From the ruby-red sands of Santorini’s volcanic rock beaches to the stalactites rising from the depths of the Diros Cave in Areopoli, Greece’s ancient lands are scattered with the natural traces of its many past lives.

If you’re an avid hiker, consider staying on the island of Corfu, where you can make the three-hour trip to Zagoria in mainland Greece to follow in the footsteps of Ottoman traders. As you’re winding through dramatic cliffs and fragrant vegetation, you’ll cross 300-year-old bridges and mule trails. Because Greece is a living museum, travelers willing to wander off the beaten path will stumble across many such vestiges of the past.

Learn About Greek Mythology and History

Have you ever imagined what life was like a few millennia ago? With hundreds of archeological sites scattered across the country, history buffs will enjoy walking through thousands of years of history and discovering the myths and legends that are interwoven with Greece’s history.

In Crete, you’ll find the vestiges of the city of Knossos, Europe’s oldest city. Visitors can learn about the ancient Minoan civilisation, and explore the palace of Knossos, a site linked to the myths of Daedalus and Icarus, and Theseus and the Minotaur.

On mainland Greece, you’ll find the iconic ruins such as the Parthenon and the Temple of Hephaistos in Athens. Greece’s history and ancient culture has had a tremendous and lasting influence on western language, medicine, philosophy, politics and sports, making it a fascinating  destination for Europhiles.

To discover all the wonders of the Peloponnese Peninsula, we suggest a stay in one of our gorgeous villas villas in Porto Heli, a summer resort town known for its beautiful beaches. From there, you’ll be able to make day trips to the beautiful region of Arcadia, which inspired so many classical poems and artworks, and the archeological site of Olympia, where the original Olympic Games were held in honor of the Greek god Zeus.

Indulge in Endless Epicurean Delights

Wine lovers from far and wide travel to Greece to worship at the temple of Dionysus, and savor fragrant floral wines that have been perfected over a 6,000 year long history of local viniculture. Let your quest for fine vintages take you to the Aegean Islands, Crete, Peloponnese Peninsula and more, and you’ll discover many ancient wine routes to explore.

Hospitality and generosity are Greek traditions, and travelers should expect to experience a warm welcome at wineries and dining establishments across the country. With its variety of braised meats, fish, dairy and colorful vegetables, Greek cuisine is a flavorful discovery based on a typical Mediterranean diet. After a day of discovering Greece’s many beautiful sights, visitors will enjoy sampling roast lamb, marinated vegetables, plump olives and savory feta cheese, a chilled glass of wine in hand.

Experiencing Villa Getaways in Greece

Enjoy the charm of Greece’s local architecture combined with the luxury of modern amenities and picturesque views in a private villa. Known for its dramatic sunsets and rugged landscapes, Santorini is perhaps the most famous of the Cyclades islands. Santorini’s regional style of construction utilises a mortar made from ground volcanic rock, which is then coated with plaster for protection. Many of our Santorini vacation rentals are a perfect example of this regional style, and look like they have been entirely moulded from plaster, with cool and smooth interior walls that are often sculpted into vaults and arches. These beautiful homes include many indoor and outdoor lounging areas perfect for relaxing after an exciting day of beach hopping.

Crete is the perfect destination for the vacationer who would rather avoid island-hopping but still get the most out of their Grecian escape. From its pristine beaches to impressive mountains, Crete packs in so many delights, both natural and man-made, that any traveler will be satisfied with their choice of destination. With views of mountains and sea, our villas in Crete are the perfect place to reflect on the day’s discoveries and recuperate from a long sunny day of visiting ancient Minoan ruins, quaint fishing villages and chic harbors.

Ready to embark on an epic Grecian adventure? Just reach out, and one of our Villa Specialists will help you find the vacation home that suit the unique needs of you and your fellow travelers.
