Vacation rentals in Freshwater Bay

5Stars I had a fantastic stay at mercys place! The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Communication with the host was smooth and timely, and they were very accommodating with check-in and local recommendations. The amenities provided were thoughtful and made the stay feel like home. I would definitely book again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

As previously mentioned you might be a bit worried about driving past the electricity station, but the apartments are set back and have a large private garden and you do not see the power plant. You walk onto the beach directly from the house and can access paradise beach which is so quiet . The rooms are large and airy with well equipped kitchen. There are two shower rooms and large comfy beds with air conditioning. Ceiling fans in all rooms and large private terraces leading into the garden. Judy was so responsive and helped when we locked ourselves out of the safe. I would come back again in a heartbeat and am loathe to share this great spot. We did have a car, but you could manage with local buses, and once in the complex, you can just relax.

Everything went great! The host was responsive and friendly. We loved the location it was close to a lot of things to do. The beach was very close with several food options. I ran into no issues. I would recommend this home to anyone. You definitely get what you pay for and won’t be disappointed.

Denise was a delightful and discreet host. Friendly and courteous. We were given a thorough explanation of how everything works, from TV, WIFI to Air Con etc. Everything worked well. The overall impression of the residence was one of great space, light and colour. The interior is white including the tiled floor and the high ceiling (which shows the timber structure superbly). If you like a feeling of space this is made for you. Denise has a great sense of colour with certain walls brightly painted. There is also a bank of cupboards with plenty of hanging space and drawers. There is a kitchen and table with chairs on the lower level, again not in the least bit claustrophobic. Be aware that it is not close to shops etc. These however can be accessed easily by car or by foot if you feel inclined! The view of the coast is breathtaking so you can sit back with a cool rum cocktail and take it easy.

We enjoyed everything: beautiful green yard, big terrace, kitchen with all the needed utilities and spices. And the “cat therapy” - there are two adorable girl cats in the compound. If you don’t want them getting too friendly, just keep the wooden doors closed. We personally found these two fur angels a perfect addition to the coziness of our stay. Funny enough, no matter how much we enjoyed the parks and gardens (such as Hunte’s) on the island, we still saw monkeys much more often when we were in the apartment, as they roam freely in the area. The closest beach occurred to be truly the best one for swimming and fish watching. Savvy on the Bay is less than 10min walk from the apt and has live music, bar and a variety of Caribbean dishes. Our favorite food truck was definitely Jamaica Plantation. 4A’s Super Mart is the neighborhood store where you can get everything needed for a quick meal, as well as some kitty treats. There are stray cats, remember to give them water as it’s hot:)

Richard(Nicholas) and Kathryn were great hosts. Very responsive to our communications. If you are looking for a traditional bajan experience, this could be for you. We were a party of 3 and stayed for 4 nights. This was our first time in Barbados. The property is in a quiet cul de sac, which felt very safe. It is a few minutes walk to the beach - Brandon’s and Brighton. Brandon’s beach has a beach bar and sun loungers. Slightly further up the beach towards Brighton beach you have the Stades rum distillery and bar right on the beach. Both are well worth a visit. We took a 15 minute taxi ride up to Holetown. This was a very different experience. We also walked to see Rihanna drive and Kensington oval. It was a long walk in the heat and many roads don’t have pavements, but definitely doable. There are loads of taxis available but a bit pricey. If you are staying longer you may want to hire a car.
