My Cute Little House

Set in the heart of Verteuil a petite citie de caractere in the Charente we welcome you to Ma jolie petite maison, a one double bedroomed gite that sleeps 4. The building is over 200 years old and has been completely refurbished in 2024. With exposed stone walls and original fireplaces, lit by vintage French chandeliers and tasteful wall lights, the gite is both cosy and comfortable. During your stay you will have exclusive use of the heated swimming pool and a large Moroccan style barn.

This special place on the gorgeous river Aume and centre of Aigre- butcher, Carrefour supermarket, epicurie, boulangerie, Thursday market, restaurants and bar- a hive of activity in rural France. Upstairs Bedroom 1 and 2 are large double bedrooms. Bedroom 4 ( with a single and a small double bed) is only accessible through Bedroom 2. These rooms share a bathroom off the upstairs hallway. Bedroom 3 downstairs has ensuite toilet and shower with a desk and a fold out single bed if needed.

This idyllic French stone house can sleep up to five people. It has two bedrooms, a large living room with a woodburner, a fitted kitchen with a large dining table and two shower rooms, one on each floor. The rear bedroom has a balcony that overlooks the garden with a ruined abbey and the Charentaise countryside beyond. Outside there's a summer kitchen, a small terrace and a lawned garden. The village has a delightful cake shop, a popular restaurant, artisanal stores and a museum.

Quietly, in a hamlet near La Rochefoucauld and close to the RN10, the accommodation at your disposal is an extension of our house. Guests can enjoy the Charente countryside, as paths are directly accessible on foot or by mountain bike. To see nearby: The city of Angoulême known for the comic book festival, the ramparts circuit, the Abbey of Saint Amant de Boixe... Things to do: geocaching with the TerraAventura app, discovery trails and unusual puzzles

The beautifully restored gite lies in the heart of the country but is close to the lovely historic village of Verteuil, one of the prettiest in Charente, dominated by a magnificent chateau with restaurants, wine cellar, and a small Sunday market. Located in the courtyard of a former post office, the latter is very quiet and close to all amenities. Bed and bath linen is provided. It is equipped with a small kitchen area, a 140 bed, bathroom and toilet. Close to the national 2 min, 20 min drive to the center of Angouleme, 15 min to Ruffec. Baby equipment possible. Possibility of preparing breakfast €10 per person.

Its castles (La Rochefoucault-Verteuil), its cognac cellars. 20 minutes from Angoulême and small cities of characters like Nanteuil-en-Vallée en Vallées and Verteuil sur Charente. Foreign walk in our small village in Val de Bonnieure where you will find all the amenities.
