We had a fantastic stay at fern cottage. The location is peaceful and just a short 10-minute drive from the national park. The place was spotless, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed. We especially loved the patio area! Elaine and Carter were wonderful hosts :) We would highly recommend this place to anyone!

This place was an amazing place to see a volcano! Everything in the description is spot on and it is very peaceful. Very clean and tidy. Owner kept in touch entire time when we needed. We were lucky enough to see episode 24 eruption and watch the sky turn red as we soaked in the hot tub. 5 minutes from main gates. Could not have asked for more.

This was a perfect quiet getaway for our small family. Excellent for exploring the volcano activity and getting away from the busy tourist side of Kona. Hosta are friendly, kind, thoughtful in all of their communication...our daughter left behind a small (very important to her) stuffed animal and the hosts were kind enough to let us know right away so we could arrange a simple return...that meant a lot. Thank you for everything! Aloha!

Dani was a wonderful host! Very responsive to any questions or issues. The cottage itself is very clean and private and helped us feel very connected to each other and nature. The outdoor shower is absolutely wonderful and the well equipped kitchen is a joy to prepare any meal in. The grounds are surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers and if you're lucky, maybe some fresh avocado or lemons! I could go on and on, but of you want to truly experience the rainforest in seclusion and comfort while not giving up the amenities of being close to civilization, do not hesitate to book here! You will not be disappointed!

I checked in late, around 10pm during intense rain. The long drive down the dirt road leading to the property and finding parking and the cabin was all a little sketchy pitch black darkness and rain. Was all worth it. A nice spot off the beaten path, comfortable with everything I needed. I would have stayed longer if the place wasn't already booked after my stay.

Awesome authentic off grid experience living in a super clean cabin in the woods with all the amenities you could want or need. Falling into a deep sleep in the cabin loft to the serenade of the coqui frogs or taking an instant hot water shower outdoors surrounded by only the rainforest, these are experiences that will stick with you for a lifetime. Tom and Misty are really cool and accommodating, and gave me great advice for living off grid in the Puna district. Don’t miss this rainforest cabin experience, because once you find it, you might never want to leave!

Exceptional Airbnb! Tony was a great host. He responded right away and was very welcoming! The yurt is beautiful, exactly as pictured. He thought of everything. We really appreciated having access to beach chairs, Wi-Fi, and laundry. Felt like a great glamping experience with all the amenities at a fraction of the price near Volcano National Park.
