What you'll do

This hands on experience will take you inside a working beehive to discover the world of the honeybee and its management, demonstrate equipment required by a bee-keeper, and give an overview of the beekeeping year. You might be toying with the idea of purchasing a beehive, but would like more guidance. We are ethical beekeepers and have a big passion for honeybees and the role they play in the environment. Join us on a beekeeping experience to discover more about the exciting world of this most complex and productive insect, and enjoy a hands-on exploration inside a hive of honeybees at one of our bee yard (apiary). The experience will include: Wearing a bee suit and gloves Handling live honeybees Inspecting the inside of a beehive Understanding how a beehive works The do’s and don’ts of beekeeping Explain the process in which honey is harvested (if you are lucky you may also get to see the extraction process) How can you help save the bees The event will definitely feed your curiosity and interest in bees but also in the wider natural world, and may even encourage you to take up beekeeping. This amazing experience will last for approx 2 hours Please note that adverse weather conditions (fire bans, rain, storms etc) are beyond our control may result in your experience being postponed, as you can appreciate this would be beyond our control.
