What you'll do
First we’ll meet at Comunity Shoes in the Arts District in downtown LA, our studio. You'll first learn from Nuke, a multidisciplinary graffiti artist who has worked in Los Angeles for over 30 years and will share his insider’s perspective on the history and design of LA street art. He’s passionate about inner city education, creating street art that celebrates social justice and Chicano history, and conserving some of LA’s most historic sites. I'll then demonstrate fundamental techniques of foam-free floral design, where to source materials, and how to use inspiration from street art to build a show-stopping arrangement for a gift or party centerpiece that will WOW guests. Next, you'll have a gallery of local street art photography from the Arts District to choose from for you to create your very own masterpiece using fresh and dried florals and spray paint. I'll work with you to think through the design and ingredients that best fit your idea. Be prepared to get crafty and think outside the box! Afterwards, we’ll have a photo session and you'll be given a map where you can scout out the original street art from your photos that inspired your arrangement. Head on out and strike a pose with your street art-inspired masterpiece!
We'll provide light snacks and drinks.
I'll be providing: - Modern vases - Chicken wire, sheers, and other flower building supplies - Flowers and foliage - Spray…
