About your host

I lived in Indonesia for seven years, surfing in Bali every day. I have since moved to Busan, where I now share the joy of surfing. I have earned an ISA (International Surfing Association) coaching and judging certification. I hope to meet you at Songjeong Beach—see you soon.

What we’ll do

Once we gather at the appointed time at Songjeong Beach, I'll take you through the basic theory of surfing and cover all important safety points. Then you'll put on a wetsuit I'll provide and paddle out into the ocean to get started. As a professional coach, I'll show you how to be successful riding the waves for the first time. Once the lesson has finished, you're free to continue surfing…

Where you'll be

We'll be at Songjeong Beach, the most beautiful beach in Busan. It's a good place for beginners because the water is clear and shallow. The beach is very close to the Buddhist temple Haedong Yonggungsa, one of Busan's most famous attractions.
