What you'll do

Our newest e-bike tour launches from our base on Tin Cannery Row and features some famous filming locations for HBO’s hit series Big Little Lies, as well as some amazing Monterey history and marine life. On this ride, we’ll explore from Asilomar State Beach to Del Monte Beach and everything in between to see where most of the coastal and cafe scenes were filmed.
Fans of the show will recognize Lovers Point Park, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Paluca Trattoria (a coffee shop located on Fisherman’s Wharf), and the exterior of the surfside condo of Celeste Wright (played by Nicole Kidman). You’ll see a little of old-town Monterey, Pacific Grove, and a lot of beautiful scenery as we explore this beautiful area and step into the lives of "the Monterey Five".
The full ride is about 15 miles and lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. We will spend approximately 50% of the time riding in bike lanes with traffic on a 25 mph speed limit, and 50% riding on a designated bike trail with other cyclists and pedestrians.
Other things to note
Pack a layer. It can be chilly on sections of the ride!

You may want to pack a snack.

Street park for $1.50/hr. or $20 all day in lots.

People often ask to stretch the tour...pay for 3.5-4 hrs

Hi, it's Joaquin! When my home was cut off by landslides in 2017, I bought 4 eBikes out of necessity. I took a few friends for a ride along the coast and everyone left with a perma-grin saying, "That was the most fun I've ever had!" So I bought a bunch more e-bikes, launched Big Sur Adventures, and in a few weeks, the fun went viral. Samantha Brown even took a tour with me filming PBS's "Places to Love." As demand for this experience has grown, I've brought on board a few local guides who have a great knowledge of the history and wildlife of our area. Come join us and experience the fun!

Great fun on our electric bikes, and Cypress was a super guide - not only was she knowledgeable about Marine life in the area but also the local history and community. This was a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend this tour.

The biking tour was amazing!! Our host Cypress was beyond lovely and shared all kinds of insight she has from her marine biology background and knowledge of Monterrey. The tour ended up going overtime but we barely noticed with how much fun we had. My parents got to learn some history of the area which they loved, my mom got to see some spots Big Little Lies was filmed in and we got to ride around on super fun Rad Power Bikes. They had pedal assist as well as a throttle which made zipping around very easy and fun. We would definitely recommend!

Great way to spend a little time. We were 5 people and everyone had a great time. Our guide, Cypress, was so knowledgeable and really took her time. We learned something about nature, got a little physical activity, and saw some beautiful sites. Great value, highly recommend and will repeat the bikes are top quality too!

Great experience. Small group — 6 of us — and our guide Cypress. She was friendly and informative. Really unique thing to do when in the Monterey region
