What you'll do

A 3 hour workshop Session enables you to learn the basics of silversmithing, the first 2 hours are taught in copper as it is an easier metal to use and enables the student to see the techniques easier and build their confidence before moving on to Silver. Within this session you will learn how to adapt, and manipulate the metal by Sawing, piercing, hammering, annealing, patinating and forming. You will also learn 2 types of soldering. These are all the basic skills required in silversmithing. It also covers the tools used, how to set up a workbench at home and other techniques such as stamping. The final hour enables you to create a solid silver ring band. This session also covers polishing and finishing. People have previously made normal rings, thumb rings and pinky rings. Refreshments are available in sessions including, tea and coffee, soft drinks and biscuits. We can cover for dietary requirements if given notice
