What you'll do

A visit to our private bee garden and honey tasting by the ocean. This is a beekeeping and honey tasting tour. We have over 40 hives in Bolinas. You'll see some of them. We'll talk about bees and beekeeping and we'll eat local, and bay area Honey! What could be better.

And while we call this the sunny honey walking tour - any weather is possible at any moment. Wear layers, and prepare for anything from too sunny/too hot to too cold/too foggy!

We head up hill a little bit, this isn't very strenuous, and we can go at any pace, but definitely qualifies as an uphill walk. When we get to the top, we will stop to visit some of our bees - and sit. I'm a beekeeper, and my bees enjoy ocean front views. You will too - and enjoy some incredible local honey and gain some deep knowledge about these wonderful creatures.

Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Totally changed my understanding of the honey bees and have a newfound enjoyment of honey replacing refined sugar in my diet!

Wonderfully informative and enjoyable! We now know and appreciate beekeeping and honey's allergy-immunity building properties. And the honey tasting was a bonus. We're tracking down their local honeys and look forward to our daily teaspoon!

Matt’s tour was amazing. He is essentially the king of local honey. We checked out a few bee hives on scenic trails, and tasted a variety of honey blend with cheerful storytelling. I learned so much about bees, trees, our food industries, our environment and the planet. Not only I have a new found respect and appreciation for honey, the tour sparked an interest of bee keeping in me too. Highly recommend!

Matt gave us and exceptionally cool tour of Bolinas and of bee culture. Great stories, fun history, beautiful views. Matt shared his enthusiasm of bees, of Bolinas, and of honey— and we got to taste/experience all of them. This was truly a “sweet“ experience.
