What you'll do

We will meet in the parking lot for the TOWN OFFICES of STOCKBRIDGE. a short walk up the trail brings us to our place of practice at the beautiful Stone Rostrum. Designed by Daniel Chester French (Lincoln Memorial) the piece is a memorial to Henry Dwight Sedgwick, president of the Laurel Hill Association from 1881 to 1904.

We continue our journey, down to the bridge, cross the railroad tracks and on the ice glen trail. As we journey we may make stops to explore the native flora (plants and trees) and fauna (animals and critters) . I can give you plenty of information about the history of the area and the therapeutic uses of plants as we hike. Our hike takes us through the geological wonder of ice glen, a glacial boulder field which is often icy or snowy from November well into June! It is an out-and-back hike. Once back to the Rostrum, we will finish with a mediation of gratitude and if time allows, a snack! I will send a snack away with you if time does not allow.

I teach bespoke yoga and meditation. Runners, Amputees and folks wanting to deepen their yoga practice come to me for a private or small group lessons. Practicing out of doors deepens the experience connecting you to yourself and the environment you are in. Stockbridge offers incredibly beautiful spaces of Ice Glen, Laura's Tower Overlook and Stockbridge Bowl for practice locations. My qualifications as a yoga teacher include 200 hours basic YTT and 500 hours advanced mindfulness and yoga for backpain from BodhiYoga. My knowledge of local hiking trails, flora and fauna is extensive. I can teach you about local wildflowers and their medicinal and therapeutic uses. I am also a keen runner represented the country of Scotland (where I lived for 14 years ) in international and cross country running.

Where you'll be

The trails in and around Stockbridge are unique spaces of both natural and anthropological history. Guests will enjoy time in Ice Glen, important because of it's glacial history and anthropological history. Ice Glen is a boulder field which separated from the adjoining mountainsides and fell to the bottom of the v-shaped valley after the end of the last glacial period over 11,000 years ago. We will also see Massachusetts' oldest pine tree!

Great experience and a great area for hiking. Lots of beautiful views and chances to really take in the beauty of nature. Morgan was very friendly and easy-going. The interactions felt natural and I think we all had a great time together. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone in the area. Try it out!

I really enjoyed my time with Morgan in the Ice Glen. We took our time chatting about the local history and admiring all the trails had to offer. Hiking and yoga- a fun combination! Plus Morgan had some snacks for afterwards that were so thoughtful :)
