What you'll do
What is more representative than the croissant in France! Nothing more irresistible than a good croissant coming out of the oven! Together we will learn how to make dough for croissants and other Viennese pastries (chocolate breads, raisin bread ...) and then we will learn how to shape and cook. We start with a warm welcome with a coffee accompanied by a good croissant of course! You divide with your crust, to be able to cook in your oven upon your return.

have more than 10 years of experience in the bakery. After several trainings (including one at Ritz-Escoffier School, Paris), I get my professional certificate. I created a workshop to share my passion for baking. I like to show how easy and fun it is to make your own croissants! I love meeting new people and I'm always there if you need help after!

Where you'll be
The workshop will take place in a loft in the heart of Rouen city. It's an old flower greenhouse renovated by an architect with a big open kitchen semiprofessional very luminous. Near abbatiale st Ouen in the historic part. Unique and original! Not far from Rouen train station. 1h10 from Paris

Helene is a kind host but I feel like I could have had the same experience watching a YouTube video at home and trying it myself. The experience was advertised in English but since most of the group was French, she spoke mostly in French & there were some things I did not understand. The group was also not friendly and made me feel excluded for not speaking fluent French. Overall, there are aspects that I liked but I did not feel it was worth the money. I also did not get to bake any croissants because no where in the description does it say you need to take the dough home to rest and bake it at home. Many tourists like me would probably not have access to an oven!! So I didn’t even get to share my work and new knowledge with my friends and family. I think Helene has potential but some improvements are necessary.

Making croissants with Helene was just as we (my boyfriend and I) expected, and much more! Helene was warm and welcoming, and gave simple instructions in English (combined with demonstrations). She also was thoughtful to give us recommendations of her favorite restaurants and local sites. We highly recommend her!
