What you'll do

During the short days and long dark nights in Winter, Amsterdam becomes a place of Magic and Wonder. 20 Light Art Works will be shown in and around the city’s Canals.

Imagine yourself: A warm glass of gluhwein in your hands, the sound of water lapping softly against the sides of the boat as we drift beneath Amsterdam’s iconic bridges, Magical Artworks and past its magnificent 17th-century canal houses.

On board this amazingly comfortable and quiet electric boat, you’ll have heated seats, gluhwein (mulled wine), a panoramic view of the city and a front row seat to these wonderful art exhibitions. Especially, as onboard you can go up close and even through these pieces!.

For the last five years I’ve been closely involved with this festival. I know some of these artists personally! We’ll discuss the artist’s inspiration, what moves them, and what they wanted to express through their work. We’ll share ideas, insights and opinions and hopefully we’ll all leave more inspired, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about art and what it can offer us. So, join me and let me show you the city, her canals, the light festival and why I am so passionate about art.

Besides all the Light Artworks we also visit some of the main highlights that Amsterdam offers in the Evening. Like the Seven bridges, The Unesco world heritage Canal gordel and some of the most beautiful scenes at night.
Other things to note
We provide heated seats, blankets and warm Gluhwein, still make sure you're dressed warm.

No Toilet onboard

Last year we were sold out often days before the Experience.

I am also offering another Experience: TALES OF LOVE on a BOAT with Prosecco which will be during sunset.

Our passion is helping curious travellers that visit Amsterdam to look with fresh eyes.

We draw on our experience as artists (Rik is storyteller and firework we Rocco former dancer & choreographer) to curate creative, intimate tours revealing stories behind every stone.

Both born in The Netherlands we have traveled the world, lived abroad and visited over 25 countries. During our career as artists we often felt Art was misunderstood, People did not get it!

We started having a dialogue with our audiences and organised meetings. Through sharing the meaning, motivation and thought process behind the Art, people got it and so naturally appreciate it more.

Our passion is to guide visitors through Amsterdam and be a bridge between the city and the traveller and between Artist and Artlovers.

Welcome onboard!

Rocco is a fantastic tour guide. His insights into Amsterdam and the artful nature of the city were phenomenal. The whole setting felt very intimate, and welcoming. He served us glüwein, and tea. And there was plenty of food and drink for everyone on board. Overall if I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Rocco’s boat tour was incredible! If you are looking for genuine insight and knowledge of the art pieces in a comfortable, friendly environment then look no further. We were served mulled wine and light snacks on heated seats in a covered boat that kept us warm from the winter weather. I can not recommend this tour enough!!

This is a MUST do trip in Amsterdam. Skip the huge tour boats, and go in this small and personal boat that gets into the nooks and cranny's of Amsterdam.

A highly recommended small group experience in Amsterdam. A wonderful way to see the canals, light sculptures and architecture by night. Rocco makes this a unique, enchanting experience.
