What you'll do

Gastown is Vancouver’s hotspot for drinking and dining! But don't go it alone – join a local (like us!) to easily navigate the cobblestone maze of restaurants and cocktail bars.

On this 3-hour tour, you’ll find out what it means to “eat and drink your way” through Gastown. You’ll get a full progressive meal, a detailed foodie map, and special dining discounts!

We’ll meet you at the Gassy Jack Statue and there’s no looking back! We’ll take you through nooks and alleyways to sit down for seriously delicious food and drink. We’ll stop in 4 of our all-time favourite restaurants – they’re 100% locally-owned spots that make Gastown Gastown!

We get to skip all the lines on this tour! When we sail in and sit down at Tuc Craft Kitchen for Pork Belly Crackling, Tempura Bacon Eggs, and Parsnip Fries, you’ll see exactly how great this is…especially with a glass of local wine!

If you’re keen to appreciate Gastown as only the locals do, we’re passionate about sharing Gastown’s true (and evolving) story. We share the good times and the riots, the old vs. new architecture, and the complex social balance. It’s wildly interesting and goes really nicely with craft beer, pizza, and cocktails!

We’re a group of food-loving Vancouverites who believe that food is the best way to experience a place! 8 years ago, we began hosting Vancouver Foodie Tours as a way to share what makes Vancouver the delicious and diverse city that we love. Together, we’ve hosted over 1000 tours and 20,000 guests!

It took a few hundred hours to plan, but our Gastronomic Gastown Tour combines insanely good foods with in-depth Vancouver history, heritage architecture, and local insights. Gastown is so complex, beautiful, delicious, and exciting -we can’t wait to show you around!

We also host the "All Things Canada on Granville Island" Airbnb Experience and other Foodie Tours in Vancouver. For a full look into who we are and what we do, check us out at foodietours.ca!

Where you'll be

Gastown is Vancouver's #1 restaurant district and the city's most-historic neighbourhood. Because of the cobblestone streets and complex alleyways, most visitors only see the one street of Gastown with the Steam Clock. We'll guide you through Gastown's maze to reveal unique restaurants, cocktail bars, and delicious hidden gems. Along the way, we'll explore old and new architecture and take an in-depth look at Gastown's evolving history.

This tour is a wonderful way to get to know the gastronomic scene in Vancouver, and also learn about the history of the area you are exploring.

This food tour is really great. Jesse, our tour guide, was very personable and shared a lot of Gastown’s history in addition to telling us a lot about its really great food scene. He even told us about restaurants we didn’t visit during the tour. The food we sampled – our tour included stops at four restaurants – was all really good, as were the drinks. We also got lucky in that our group of nine people was a lot of fun and included people from all over the world. Strongly recommended, and a great way to kick off an evening in Vancouver.

Our guide Jesse was super friendly and knowledgeable of Gastown and the restaurants that was part of the tour. There was a little bit of story associated with every restaurant we visited. The recommendations he provided was on the mark. The tour also asked for preferences beforehand and made sure they had a couple options at every place we went to. The selection of food types was good. Definitely recommend the tour.

We really enjoyed this tour and would love to tour other restaurants in Vancouver with Dina again. Dina was knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. The restaurants were well chosen and the dishes flowed nicely from one to the other. One of the cool things about this tour was that the pairings of adult beverages were unique and a tad quirky in a couple of instances. It’s good to be surprised!
