What you'll do

This experience details why the Chinese, Irish, and Italians immigrants arrived on our teeming shores. This tour also focuses on how the Chinese, Irish, and Italian exiles became the backbone of New York. The men would build the bridges and the tunnels. The women would be cooks and maids. And their children, raised in the values and language of their new country, would weave themselves into the tapestry of America. This is the story of US.

We will visit Chinatown, Five Points, and Little Italy on this 2-hour fun-filled excursion. This tour is designed as a relaxing entertaining family experience. Not for someone doing research or writing a thesis on immigration.

Where you'll be

We will visit Chinatown's main street, which is Mott Street. The next stop is historical Pell Street the first Chinatown road. We will proceed to the old Five Points neighborhood that was once controlled by the Irish. It was featured in the movie the Gangs of New York. The tour finishes in the heart of Little Italy.

Andrew was a great tour guide. His knowledge of his country’s history is impressive. He’s patient and funny and very earnest about the subject of this tour. We really enjoyed our two hours with him as we learned about Chinatown, Five Points and Little Italy. His life experience added a lot to the tour for us. We also got to sample amazing pork dumplings. I absolutely recommend Andrew as a tour guide as it was like hanging out with a very knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining friend for the two hours.

Great knowledge and very thoughtful! It was a cold day and he made sure he took breaks to stay warm. Let us shop in little Italy and made sure we understood everything.
