I am a Batik Class Teacher. I learned how to paint since I was still a child. I became interested in batik painting when I studied at primary school.

"In creating batik painting I use a manual procedure. Expressing my ideas on canvas and finishing it is one of my hobbies. Neighborhood, Balinese dance, temple ceremony and everyday life become my inspiration. Most of the themes of my paintings are all activities.

It was an amazing experience! Loved the class. I got a personalised experience as no one else was in the group. Both Wayan and his father Nyoman were great and taught me the batik techniques.

It was such a unique culture experience. I enjoyed every minute of it. I love painting so I wanna try batik painting. There are so many steps and with negative process wow you really need to know what you are doing. But don’t worry, you are guided through. I was not rushed during the experience and was told to take my time frequently. I figure he noticed that I kinda was rushing myself as I needed to go somewhere later :)). Overall, it was great!

The experience we were given surpassed our expectations! We expected to just sketch something and draw within the lines but Wayan introduced us to a much more memorable time using hot wax inside a tjanting but we never felt unsafe using it. Seeing the colors change throughout the entire process we so much fun. I'm glad we took such a different class. Wayan is so talented and a wonderful teacher!

Was one of the most unique experiences I did in Bali. The painting process is so intricate. Both Wayan and his father were teaching us, there was only 3 students and we were given individual attentions. We were only taught the next stage of the process when we completed each stage. We did every stage to our own speed, there were no rushing. Felt very special. The class was run in Wayan and his father’s home/ art studio. Very unique. We shared stories of Batik, and why they are passionate about teaching it. I would definitely highly recommend it. Would do the class again next time I visit Bali.
