The room was clean, the airbnb was nice & quiet. It was nice to recharge after our komodo tour. Since the airport is literally a less than 10 minute walk from the airbnb we didn’t have to wake up super early to catch our plane.

La Bohème was a fantastic Hostel with loads of friendly staff to make sure your stay there is enjoyable. They demonstrated a fine balance between professionalism and showing their own personalities while having fun working. The kitchen staff and food were also exceptional. They will give you loads of advice and options for potential tours and whatever you fancy doing while in Labuan Bajo. We (a family of 4 with two children) were able to stay in a room with AC, a Queen Bed and a Bunk Bed. The room itself was simple, clean sheets and a firm mattress. The shared toilets were close by and cleaned regularly. There’s plenty to do and a great community vibe where you can mix and mingle with others there at the pool/snooker table and table tennis, chill in the various locations either with other Travellers or by yourself. Georges place is amazing! The most relaxing place I have ever been thanks to the constant hospitality from the staff and the tranquility of the area. Mihi makes the best food and all the locals are super friendly.

We recently stayed here and overall, it was a fantastic experience. Upon check-in, we was pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade to a higher room category due to a temporary A/C issue in my original room. The staff handled the situation professionally and made sure we were comfortable — their attentiveness really stood out. The upgraded room offered a beautiful view, which made the stay even more memorable. Watching the sunset from the balcony was a highlight of my trip. The room itself was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Service throughout the stay was consistently excellent. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was courteous and helpful. The complimentary breakfast each morning was another strong point — a good variety of fresh options, from fruits and pastries to hot dishes and great coffee. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with great views, solid amenities, and exceptional service.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Bayview gardens hôtel. Nous avons été agréablement surpris par la chambre qui est magnifique et comporte un grand balcon. La vue est à couper le souffle (dans la chambre comme sur le balcon et depuis la piscine à débordement) : La plus belle vue que nous ayons jamais eu depuis un logement. L’endroit était idéalement placé, avec de très bon restaurant avec très belles vue dans la même rue et vous pouvez vous rendre au centre et au port à pied. L’hôtel comprend aussi de nombreux services comme faire vos machines, livrer des boissons dans votre chambre et organiser vos sorties bateaux. Il n’y a rien à redire nous avons adoré notre séjour et reviendrons. Merci!

The rooftop pool villa was very private. The pool and deck were amazing and had outstanding views all day long, but particularly at sunset and sunrise!! The hotel staff were always available for any questions or needs. We were spoiled by breakfast served on the terrace. The bed was comfortable and the view from the bed was simply stunning. Everything was within walking distance (but get your legs ready for some serious hills!) We highly recommend heading to the fish market at night for amazing fresh seafood at really affordable prices! The call to prayer from the local mosques is a hallowing cultural experience, adding spirituality to the gorgeous landscape. Also, highly recommend Alexandria cruises for a day outing to visit some of the Komodo Island’s most beautiful beaches and snorkeling destinations. They pick you ip directly from the hotel. Graham’s place is truly a magical oasis at the top of the hill overlooking the Labuan Bajo port.

I’ve been to many many many places so far, in many countries and Utopia is one of the best I’ve ever been to. The chance to live in harmony with nature to enjoy great freshly picked and cooked food, then add to it a very nice owner and staff, fantastic views, everything very well-thought and designed, and always with sustainability in mind, you can’t ask for more. However, it’s not for everyone. If you need western standards, long showers, flat screen TV, etc. then there are better suited options for you in Rote. But for us, it was just absolutely perfect.

Umarato Resort is an absolute gem for those seeking a serene and private escape in Sumba. Perched high on the hills, the resort offers an uninterrupted, breathtaking view of the ocean. Watching the sunrise from this vantage point was a truly magical experience. The infinity pool, seamlessly blending into the ocean’s horizon, is nothing short of spectacular. The resort is equipped with fully stocked amenities that ensure a comfortable and luxurious stay. What truly sets Umarato apart, however, is the exceptional staff. They strike the perfect balance between being responsive to your needs and respecting your privacy. A special shoutout to Ernesta, our on-site focal point. Always cheerful and ever-smiling, she went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Her helpfulness, local knowledge, and genuine connection with the community added a unique charm to our visit. Umarato Resort is a haven of tranquility and impeccable service—highly recommended for anyone visiting Sumba!

We spent three nights at Umarato Resort, it was amazing, an actual dream with open eyes. Evelin and her stuff were perfect, helping us in all our needs. The pool and the open air cinema are incredible. We had a amazing experience also ride horsing on the beach. Hope to come back any time soon! We were very lucky being the only guests in the hotel and also because of this I can easily say that was the best resort experience in our life so far!

Absolutely amazing place! We stayed for 8 nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Surrounded by pure nature, it’s the perfect spot to relax, swim, go kayaking, or catch some waves surfing. The neighborhood is peaceful and charming. The host and the whole team are incredibly kind, offering excellent service and warm hospitality. They cook fresh, delicious meals every day, happily accommodating any dietary needs. The rooms are beautiful, super clean, and everything feels brand new. Truly a perfect getaway — we can’t wait to come back!
