We had the best weekend staying at Mamaws house. It was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm touches rekindling memories of our own Grand Parents homes. Every detail, decoration, trinkets, notes etc was thoughtfully arranged, making it feel like we were taking a step back in time, including the floor creaks. Alicia was beyond accommodating, always available for any questions, but also respectful of my privacy. It’s clear they take pride in their space and go above and beyond to ensure guests have an exceptional stay right down to farm fresh eggs and Little Debbie Snack cakes (what visit to Mamaws house isn’t complete without a sweet treat. If you’re looking for a perfect place to stay while visiting the Duffield area, look no further!

Great place with an abundance of outdoor activities from fishing to hiking. Made it a great place to stay during my contract!

This was my second trip at Close Quarters and it was just as good as the first. The little town of Gate City is beautiful and full of historic sights. The mountain view is beautiful and the trains run often enough to catch a glimpse each day. The home is cozy and perfect for two. I always feel at peace when visiting. The hosts leave multiple snacks and waters for guests & it is overall a wonderful stay. We love visiting this little town when we attend Smoky Mountain Terror Convention & hope to be back next August!

Wow! I absolutely loved my 2 nights in Christen's Bell Tent. I was on a business trip to The States but had some time to spare between meetings in Cincinnati and Charlotte. The tent was the ideal place to decompress and totally relax. Christen has thought of everything and done an amazing job creating a very special place in a stunning landscape. Even though Christen lives close by the spot is incredibly private. I wish I could have stayed longer!
