“My boyfriend and I had a long term stay at Serenity on Slidell. We were in a transitional phase and booked our stay rather last minute. Tom and his wife were incredibly accommodating and opened their doors to us with no hesitation. The location is beautiful, quiet, and safe; located in northern Montgomery County maybe 10 minutes from Sugarloaf Mountain, it’s a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The space itself is large, and I remember mentioning to Tom that pictures didn’t do it justice! It could easily accommodate 4+ people or an entire family. The bathroom is large with a his & hers sink, and the toilet has a door to separate it from the shower/sinks which is nice. The kitchen is large and includes a stove top, microwave, a small fridge/freezer combo, and a washer and dryer. I did bring my own pots and pans, so I can’t say I really looked for pots and pans in the cabinets. Tom was an excellent communicator and always responded quickly to my messages. He has two dogs, and honestly, they were so well behaved and as sweet as can be when I encountered them playing outside! We had such a great stay and would definitely stay there again. Thank you, Tom! We appreciate the warm hospitality. :) All the best, Shellina & Leo”
This house is on 45 acres of property and was built by my father, Jack Yates. The main area is an open floor plan with two living room areas, a dining area and a kitchen. The house has a rustic feel with the walls being rough wood and wooden beams across the ceiling. There are also two bedrooms, a full bathroom and laundry/utility room. This house is the perfect place to get away or take a break. Just a short drive away from parks, trails and the Potomac river.
“Cozy, clean and quiet. Everything we needed was there. Private and secluded setting yet close to many adventures. We enjoyed taking the ferry to visit Great Falls Park, watching the deer frolicking on the property and relaxing by the fire in the fireplace. Wesley was very kind and helpful, but not at all intrusive. We had a great time, wish we could’ve stayed longer!”
Great location for a fun get-away! This cozy little cabin has recently been remodeled by a retired carpenter, and is perfect for a quiet stay in the country. Walking distance to Sugarloaf Mountain hiking trails, and a short drive to Sugarloaf Winery and Comus Inn, the cabin is perfect for couples, or solo adventurers looking for fresh air, hunting, wine tasting, hiking, or other outdoor fun.
“I had the spontaneous idea to get away for NYE, and wanted a cabin for some solitude, seclusion, and peace. I was lucky enough to find Bob's place, and it was exactly what I needed! Bob was responsive and provided more specific directions to get there as it is a bit out of the way. He met me in person to check in and explained everything well. As some others have noted, his house is right next door, but after check in, I had privacy the entire time. The cabin was clean and had lots of amenities in the kitchen. The beds were comfy and I slept great. The porch was great for sipping coffee in the mornings and listening to the quiet still of nature. I walked to the Yellow trail at Sugarloaf from Bob's place, but you could also drive a short distance to one of the parking lots if you choose. Overall, Bob was a great host and I would recommend this cozy cabin to anyone who craves nature and a relaxing getaway from the city :)”
