House vacation rentals in Dawson County

My family and I had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for us, I think our favorite room was the White Sunroom off the kitchen. I could be cooking and the grandbabies were on the floor playing. We did have to move the coffee table into the corner as it was glass but is made ample play area on the floor. We drove to Helen, Dahlonega, Amicolola Falls St Park, Ellijay. We did 3 Wineries, Apple orchard and the kids hiked the community every morning. I don't think we could have squeezed anything else in, in one week. It was an an amazing trip, coming back to the house in the evening was as comfortable as coming home. Thank you for having us. Maria Metzger

Beautiful quiet wooded setting. Ample room, love the 2 dining areas and porches. Steep paved driveway, but could navigate during the spring and room to turnaround at top. Towels were lush and mattresses were average. Electronics all worked and the house was well stocked with a welcome bag of snacks as well as toiletries. Imagine it would be lovely in the fall as well!

Wonderful multilevel home for an extended family trip. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the pool table and dart set was a nice addition for family fun. We enjoyed eating out in the screened in porch.

Loved the cabin. Great for a getaway. Had a great time and hopefully will be coming back soon!

It was a lovely quick getaway from Atlanta. So peaceful and quiet in the community of Big Canoe. We played 9 holes on the Cherokee golf course which was pristine and had some magnificent views. We ate at a local restaurant "Home" in Marble Hill that was recommended by Brian. The meal was outstanding. The home was nestled among trees and we felt like we were in a tree house. Would definitely recommend.

We love staying in Big Canoe, and this place was so clean, well stocked, and had the perfect screened porch to relax on in the mornings and evenings. We can’t wait to return!

The host Kenny was amazing. His cabin accommodated my family of 5 needs in space, location, bedrooms and baths. The scenery in this community and around this cabin was fantastic. Especially seeing deer everywhere. Big Canoe as a community is phenomenal and very family orientated. Lots to do . Can’t wait to plan another vacation here.

We had a wonderful family Christmas at Baby Bear. Our family of 8 had plenty of room. My mom and husband, who have mobility issues loved the middle floor, my oldest daughter and her husband enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs room and their 15 year old twins had the top floor. The playroom was a delightful surprise and was well used and the fireplace was thoroughly enjoyed. The house was beautiful and the Christmas tree was such a sweet treat. We loved the kitchen and used it a lot, since the crowds in town were such that a party of 8 was nearly impossible to get seated. I can’t say enough about the house and location. It was beautiful, peaceful and just what we were looking for.

What a wonderful place for the family to meet for a week, lake is great, house is spacious and the grounds are beautiful. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever had in a house rental.

Dahl House was perfect for our needs! Beautiful inside and out, with the best amenities of any Air bnb we have ever booked. Fully stocked kitchen was a plus. Pots pans, bowls, spices, good knives, they had it all. All the light switches were labeled - there were so many! I love the ceiling fans in all the rooms and the living space was amazing. My favorite was probably the porch with the rocking chairs. The location was great for walking to the square, which we did daily. The house was squeaky clean and welcoming. Will definitely recommend to our friends with kids at UNG.

This was a fabulous garden home that made us feel comfortable right away. My daughter and I loved that there were 2 bedrooms AND 2 bathrooms! It is conveniently located minutes from town, but just far enough away for it to be peaceful at night.

Beautiful house with plenty of space for everyone. Peaceful setting on lake with dock. Great decks off each floor with view of lake.

We loved staying at the cottage in beautiful Big Canoe area for a family wedding at the Tate Mansion!! It was also close to Amicolala Falls State Park, which is an amazing hike of 600 stairs to the top and worth it for the view! Waterfall is amazing! The house is very peaceful, secluded, easy to find, and very clean and beautiful! We loved staying here and glad to be at the top of the hill and not the bottom! Because it is the first house on the top of the hill, it felt very private! Highly recommend this home for 5-6 people!

We stayed at the Modern Farmhouse for my daughter's wedding weekend. It was a small wedding, and we decided to host the entire bridal party for the weekend. The kitchen was amazing, clean and easy to cook a large meal for 20 people on the 6 burner stove. The table in the dining room seats 12 but there are barstools as well as a large, enclosed porch space that seated about 10. The weekend was a bit overcast and breezy before a storm, so the porch was perfect for hanging out and enjoying the beautiful setting. The house had three sleeping areas which was perfect for the bridal party. The host was very responsive and flexible allowing us to check in a bit early for a small fee. All of my questions were quickly answered. We would absolutely stay here again if we ever needed a large house.

We all enjoyed our time being here. Our grandson really liked fishing off the dock. It was very peaceful and quiet. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us. We will definitely recommend you.

Beautiful large home for a wonderful getaway weekend with some friends! The home was very clean and Leland was very attentive and communicative. The neighborhood was very quiet, super close to downtown and our planned activities. The house was a bit of a maze with the two staircases but we quickly got the hang of the layout. Just a warning of the steep driveway! Overall wonderful stay and would definitely book the house again in the future.

Incredibly helpful and friendly hosts, BEAUTIFUL house, perfect for our large group. We enjoyed lots of cooking (awesome grill!), game playing, and the spaces were perfect for our needs. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything we needed. We would stay here again. All communications were extremely prompt.

Beautiful scenery. Driveway is steep but was no problem navigating. House was nice and clean. The backyard view is amazing. Didn’t have much time because we were there for a wedding but there was foosball, chess, ping pong, darts and cornhole.

It was the perfect getaway cabin for 10 of us! The place was clean and felt very private. It had all of the amenities we needed as listed in the description. Catherine was super responsive and provided everything we needed to know very clearly, which made our stay even more comfortable. The parking space and the driveway were a bit small and narrow, but thankfully we carpooled so we were able to fit. The garage fit two of our cars, so that was also helpful. Highly recommend for big parties.

Nice place. Plenty of room for the whole family and only 5 minutes from town

This is a beautiful home in a wonderful location in Big Canoe! It has a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains that you can enjoy from within the house that has large windows to look out or while soaking in the hot tub on the back deck. There are lots of hiking trails and I highly recommend the lower falls! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again!

What a great place and time!! Such great memories and the view was second to none. The Shire was absolutely the best place for a family get together. We spent 90% of the time on the back deck and it was great!! On top of all this, our hosts, Melanie and Robb were amazing. From before check in to check in and during the stay, they were so helpful. Highly recommend them and their place!!

The cottage and scenery are stunningly beautiful. It's cozy, quiet and clean. We enjoyed our weekend away. Thanks again for everything.
