The house is located in the oldest and perhaps most famous street in Røros, Sleggveien. It is originally from the year 1700, but is completely renovated and has all the amenities. Welcome to Mikkelbu, a sheltered family-friendly holiday home with plenty of space and good standard in proximity to nature with a private road. The cabin is located just 50 meters from a sheltered sandy beach and fishing lake with trout. The place is known for good fishing in summer and winter. There are also no visible neighboring cabins, the nearest cabin is about 300 meters away. The place was part of the renovation program "Adventurous renovation" in 2019 and has a very special atmosphere and great furnishings.

The flat comprises the entire ground floor of a small farmhouse and has a main bedroom with ensuite, a sitting room (functions as a second bedroom when there are more than two guests), a kitchen and a second bathroom. The surroundings are peaceful and you can park right outside the door. At certain times of year, you might see elk or cranes. In the summer, cows graze in the nearby fields; the traditional barn is now a cultural centre, run by Fjøsakademiet.
