John was wonderful! He was very communicative and spoke perfect English which made the trip extra easy! The house is very safe, behind a locked street gate, steel exterior door and with video surveillance. When in Quito this has more value than you might realize. Because of this my husband recommends this place to all traveling families. John went above and beyond multiple times to help us; arranged taxis, had food delivered, washed and folded our clothes, and made us feel overly comfortable. This is a hidden gem, especially if you like Egyptian decor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for immersion in a Kichwa family on the Quilatoa Loop. Alfonso and Maria are warm, welcoming, and generous with their time and knowledge. Their accommodations are clean and comfortable. I personally loved all the hand crafted woodwork - in the furniture, and decorations. And their son Alexis is adorable - very sweet!! I wanted to stay with them longer!

Our stay at the hostel was relaxing, and the perfect place to rest before heading to Cotopaxi. The hostel was clean, incredibly quiet, and full of character. There is a gorgeous common area where you can sit by a fire or browse the gift shop. Breakfast was provided, and it was fresh and delicious—eggs, bread, jam, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit. It was also nice to have a communal fridge where we could keep our dinner leftovers. Diego was friendly and had great recommendations for places to eat, ATMs, and more, as well as useful tips for navigating Machachi. He really cares about his guests, and we highly recommend staying there—whether you find yourself visiting Machachi or simply need a place to stay between destinations.

A modern bathroom features a double sink with a stone basin and a large mirror above. Textured stone walls add natural elements, while a window allows natural light. Fresh towels are neatly arranged, and practical fixtures enhance the overall functionality of the space.

Patty's place is quite special. She and her family are warm hosts who welcomed us and shared their family history, farm, and surrounding areas with us. Their place was perfect for our family of six.
