Tout était parfait : Matthieu est un hôte accueillant, bienveillant, professionnel, présent mais discret Le domaine est juste magnifique, reposant et super bien entretenu. Le logement correspond à la description, lumineux et propre. Un besoin de couper le quotidien, un ressourcement au domaine de la chaume, une parenthèse au paradis sur terre.

We had a great stay in Descartes! The host was very helpful and made sure we could get in even though we arrived late. The house is extremely spacious—more than enough room for the three of us. The kitchen was the highlight: sunny, well-equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine, and the island was perfect for cooking together. We also enjoyed the large dining table and TV in the dining room—great for relaxing as a family.

een geweldig verblijf gehad bij Didier en zijn vrouw. Wat een prachtig huis. ruimtelijk opgezet zodat je elkaar zeker niet in de weg hoeft te lopen. wel handig met kleine kinderen en opa en oma die op bezoek kwamen. Een zeer ruime keuken van alle gemakken voorzien. Ik zou alleen wel even eigen scherpe messen meenemen die miste ik. Schone kamers, keuken, baby bedje en kinderstoel. Ook leuke spelletjes voor de kids. leuke zelfgemaakt boomfort en een schommel! Het huis ligt op het platte land en uitval naar een leuk stadje is meestal wel een ritje van 45 minuten. Dit moet je niet erg vinden. Het zwembad was een genot om in te zwemmen. Helaas hadden wij minder weer dan gehoopt. Maar Didier deed voor ons de warmte pomp aan en de overkapping erover en dan is het zeker goed toeven in het zwembad. Onze zoon heeft hier z'n watervrees overwonnen en was niet meer weg te krijgen! Wat een genot om te zien! We zijn Didier en Betrix enorm dankbaar voor ons geweldige verblijf! Aanrader!

Jeff and Oscar have undertaken an impressive project with their chateau renovation. They have really great taste, and they’ve done a solid job maintaining the historic atmosphere while modernizing. While the location requires driving, the towns of Chinon and Richelieu are quick drives and both have lots of charm and dining options. Jeff and Oscar are really helpful resources for enjoying the area.

Nous n'avons fait qu'une courte escale dans la maison de Julie que nous avons fort appréciée. La maison est très confortable, calme, propre et pleine de gentilles attentions. Mention spéciale pour la literie ! Nous recommandons !

What a beautiful place! Sylvie has created a tranquil idyl in the heart of the countryside. I loved my stay there and just wish it was longer. The gîte is spacious and completely spotless, and has every amenity you could need. Importantly, the house stayed cool throughout the whole of our stay, even during temperatures well over 30 degrees. I slept so well in my spacious, comfy, peaceful bedroom. The garden is the real show-stopper of this place - it’s huge, with lots of lawn space, beautifully tended plants and large fruit trees which provide dappled shade. (You can eat the plums!) There are lots of outdoor seating areas and tables for eating or reading your book in the shade or the sun. A very peaceful space. Sylvie is a wonderful host - friendly, vibrant, knowledgeable and so helpful. We felt completely private but she was there whenever we needed help with something. We were also lucky to arrive in time for delicious fresh tomatoes and courgettes from the garden :) Thank you!

Ian et son épouse étaient très gentils, attentionnés, et très arrangeant. Nous avons pu partir un peu plus tard que prévu et Ian nous a demandé à chaque fois si nous voulions laisser la piscine ouverte ou non. Encore merci pour tout

Spent the week with my wife and 3 grown-up children with our 4 dogs. The house was perfect as it was split into 2 different homes with 2 kitchens and joining door. Janet was a great host right from the booking. Very responsive and incredibly knowledgeable about the area which made our trips out really amazing as there are some beautiful places in the area. The town of Cussay is walkable but there’s nothing really there so you do need a car. We travelled to nearby towns and cities during the day and enjoyed the country walks with our dogs in the evenings. The only downside for us is that it was very remote therefore little phone signal and internet but I’m sure lots of people would find that exactly what they wanted.
