The house was designed by Károly Hild, one of the greatest architects of the 19th century and built in 1867 on behalf of a wealthy card manufacturer. However, some architectural blunders from the communist times can still be discovered on the building. It's a 20-minute walk to the Jewish Quarter, well-known for its vibrant nightlife, hip coffee shops, and cool restaurants. The building is right in front of a trolleybus station from where there are buses going in every 4 minutes towards the Parliament (15 minutes ride). Erzsébet Körút is either 10 minutes walk or 3 minutes ride with the trolleybus, from there you can take the tram 4-6 which is the busiest tram-line in Budapest operating 24/7 which takes you pretty much all around the city center. Keleti Railway Station is also a 8 minutes walk or 3 minutes ride with the trolleybus (78) to the other direction, from there you can take the subway M3 and M4. The surrounding streets offer a lot of free parking premises, also it's really safe to leave your car there even for a longer time.
